We are coming down in April, and we reserved two rooms - one in my name and one in my hubby's name. You see, we are Premier members and we are bringing friends with us. The referral rate is higher than our normal contact rate, and while we understand that yes, we're using our nights, we have like a jillion nights in our contract, so what's the harm? I called to ask something about our reservation and the lady on the phone seemed very confused why we would have two rooms. I thought to myself, "Surely the people who work at TTR have seen MUCH more bizarre things than this." I'm just reserving two rooms for four people. What's the fuss? So, Premier members, tell me. Have you done this before? Did everything go ok at check-in?
Just tell them you brought your boyfriend/girlfriend on the trip! I have seen other couples actually do this where they both show up with dates for the entire vacation. Actually worked out OK for them. Jamie
I tried that. She still seemed very hesitant over this being allowed? It's like... What difference does it make?
According to Premier, to use your nights, your friends should be named as Beneficiaries on your contract. However, you are also correct that each member (assuming you and your husband are both named owners) has a right to use the nights, with or without the other owner being present, which is what happens with separated couples who both use the same contract. The difference it makes is its harder for them to sell memberships (why would someone buy in when they can hop onto someone else's contract for free). So don't expect it to be "official" but I'm sure you could get away with it if you use the separated scenario to prove your point if they ask. But please don't make a big fuss of it, because it will flag it as an issue and then they will, as they always do, change the contract rules to best suit them and none of us will be able to hook our friends up with member rates.
Please let me know how this ends up working out. I figured it wouldn't be a problem, and was potentially planning on it for a trip in Aug.
