The weather was cold the water was cold the price of the rooms were way too high and the New Years Eve gala was way overrated and they allow the staff to bring their kids . The kids did stay in the Asian restaurant and did not mingle with the crowd but would walk back and forth around the Sports pool. If you wanted a good seat to view the entertainment or a chair you had to buy $100 bottle of Grey Goose vodka vodka that is just my opinion I was there

We have done it a few times, and had a blast. The resort is always full with lots of repeaters, and the weather is about like you expect for Dec 31/Jan 1. Usually warm enough to get in the pool in the pm, and very nice "if" the pool heater is working. The skinny dipping is kind of hit or miss during that time of year.

We are Premier members, so the high price during that time of year does not affect us. The NYE performance is excellent, and we did pay a few $$ for a pool side table. Not like we would not have had to pay way more than that for any other NYE party.

We will be poolside for the countdown this NYE, making it 6 yrs in a row. We have done NYE, at Sandals in Jamaica (twice), Hedo in Jamaica, 4 Caibbean cruises, Times Square in New York, (wedding anniversary is Jan2 and we never stay home)
We maintain there is no other place we would rather be for NYE than at Diego's Mecca.
Yes as Donald says. The weather is cooler, prices are high, Diego's family bring children. But it doesn't bother us. The weather is a helluva lot colder at home. We are away for NYE, dressed up and partying with awesome cool ppl at the greatest place on this continent.
As Bart says, there are many repeaters at NYE, so it is a lil clickish, but we know many ppl and look forward to ringing in the year, each year with them.
Like Bart, we are premiere as well, so price isn't an issue for us.

Diego's family are wonderful ppl, (why wouldn't they be? they own a great resort) and the kids aren't a bother. They are only around for the NYE show and countdown, which is a decent gala for a 4* Mexican resort.

yes we pay to have a table stageside for the show, but that helps pay for the extra show costs. (i.e. stage construction, lighting, performers) and we are partying like Hollywood at The Oscars.

You could search New Years Eve on this site for more info. I know I have posted many times on this subject.

Hope you decide to try TTR for NYE and we meet up with ya

We have been there once for NYE out of our 6 times. It was a great party but the weather was not great. We now go in late February because we need warmth coming in from the Midwest in the middle of winter. People are great every time we have been there.

We went and had alot of fun. It was during the BBG days and the resort put on a show represent Chicago. It was great. I ended up passing out in the shower after three bottles of cheap champaine. Worst well second worst hangover ever. We got in on new years eve and got dinner at the italian at 6:30 pm. All was good except the pool is so much chillier in Decmber and requires three to five drinks to make it comfortable. Lots of Canadians, so an awsome party.

It has been a couple of years since we were there for NYE, but I believe they had some sort of sign up a couple of days before. The cost was $50-$100 and included a bottle of booze of your choice. The tables set four.

And yes, you will have a great time.

Last year was a little different layout.
There were groupings of 4 and cafe tables for 2.
There were way more seats than in the past. And they were pre-assigned for Premiere only.
The seats were complimentary, but you may be seated with strangers. But of course, at TTR on NYE it is not long before you are fast friends.
BTW, if you wanted bottle service, you had about 8 choices of liquor brands, and had to pay for it, thru the premiere concierage.
I know Grey Goose was $100, but was optional.
Not sure how they will do it this year.
    SEE YOU THERE? ? ?
