My husband got his negative test back already, however his test isn't until tomorrow. Does everyone just test negative?
Wait they emailed him a negative result yet he hasn’t even taken the test yet? Seems unlikely, maybe they got his email mixed up with someone else. We’ve taken 3 tests there so far this year and we gave our email and filled out forms while waiting in line to take the test and results were emailed a few hours later. Nothing was done prior. Also, been 6 times during pandemic and 3 of those we’ve had to take the test. We personally do not know anyone who tested positive while there but know about 30+ including us who tested positive once back home. All positives were prior to the CDC requiring testing to go back to the US.
I have not heard of or seen a positive test, we were with a big group in May and the place was packed. Heading back July 19..
We have some friends who tested positive from TTR after returning home. They were negative on their Mexico tests and may have caught it on the flight home. Because of the lag between: exposure > incubation > positive test (1-3 days before symptoms) > symptoms you're probably not going to test positive from an exposure at TTR unless you're there for a long stay. If you're concerned I'd be more cautious the weeks leading up to your trip and on your flight.
Last year after a trip there in late July I tested positive and had mild symptoms. Obviously don’t know for certain if I caught it there but it is likely.
From Desire Forum: "We heard that 6 people tested positive near the end of our trip. We were at the ( Desire RM) resort 7/27 to 8/3."
The testing appears to be legit, but it wouldn't surprise me if they don't actually test the sample. I'm sure they have to make it look like they are doing everything correctly in order to comply with regulations. I would be surprised if the samples taken are actually tested.
