So Becky asked if anyone here has mentioned a sure fire way if preventing hangovers while at TTR. I don't recall seeing any discussion about it before? We're polar opposites with hangovers! I can drink all night, get up early, hit the gym, no worries. She feels like she got hit by a freight train until around 3pm the next day! We're pretty good about the basic rules, low sugar drinks and we each drink an entire bottle of water before we go to sleep. They definitely help her out but not nearly enough. Anyone ever have good experiences with any of the preventative pills out there? Any other ideas?
Jeff I am bringing "hangover patches" with me to TTR. They are all natural and suppose to be packed with vitamins and theoretically prevent hangovers. I will bring plenty and hook Becky up. We can test them out together. Jim
check these out. i was told by a friend that they work really well. i bought some from Amazon and plan on bringing them with me to TTR on saturday. Amazon.com: RecoverORS Adult Clinical Rehydration Powder for Food Poisoning, Hangovers, Diarrhea *FREE shipping*: Health & Personal Care
I drink a large glass of water and 2-3 liquid Advil before bed and it works great. Hangovers are caused from dehydration so it is important to rehydrate
My remedy is to have a shot of tequila and a few bloody Mary's for breakfast them I'm ready to start drinking again
Russian Recipes. BEFORE: 1. A glass (or two) of milk before you start drinking or eat something fattening before you drink - it will create some kind of "protection" in the stomack. Never drink on empty stomack. 2. Try to give a preference to drinks with less coloring in them (eg: vodka vs dark rum) AFTER: 1. Lots, lots, lots of water. Before going to bed - a slice of multigrain bread, to prevent blood sugar from dropping in the morning. 2. "Morning after" - a combination of liquid/salty/sour. Eg: tomato juice with a dash of salt and squeezed 1/2 lemon. 3. Banana. 4. Diary, yogurts (2%-5% yogurt) 5. Chicken broth/chicekn soup, right in the morning 6. Anything pickled (pickles, cucumbers, olives). Russians also drink a pickling marinade, right out of a jar with pickles and claim that it's the best cure (but they also do a number of other crazy things because they are crazy in general..... ). 7. Again, something fattening (no carbs though; eggs or bacon) - I don't know how exactly it works, but it does. Don't abuse your liver too much
Asparagus I know it sounds weird, but asparagus - either the actual vegetable, or you can get extract tablets. Something in it helps the liver process toxins. Friends and I have tested it, and combined with a bottle of water before bed (and always keep a bottle on your nightstand & drink every time you may wake up in the night), we've all concurred that it honestly does help. We get the extract on Amazon.
