ground floor or 2nd floor

We are going to TTR for the first time in less than 2 weeks. We have booked on a referral with deluxe ocean view room. It appears that our room will be in the Premier section near the sexy pool if I understand the interactive map on the Temptation site. We like the convenience of being on the ground floor but she likes to get up early to have coffee and watch the ocean. I've been reading the thread on "favorite rooms" and need some advice. Will she have a decent view of the ocean from the ground floor or should we get a 2nd floor room - assuming we have a choice at check-in.

 

I would say, 2nd floor. There are bars and cabana's that could block the view.

I would not 100% assume that you are going to be in the 3000s building near the secy pool. referral or not, and even with the upgrade, that building is mostly reserved for members. I have heard of very few stories of Referrals getting in that building. There is a pretty good chance you could be in the 5000's above the volleyball courts.

I personally recommend the higher floors, but I would actually take a 1st floor in the 3000s if it was ever offered to me.

 

Top floor, We can see everything that's going on from there

 

if your on the ground floor havin coffee in the am ,your kinda just sitting out in the open ,I wouldnt like it .

 

I would say go with the 2nd floor. You can do like my wife and I did and have some great fun on the stairs back to your room after leaving Patty O's

 

ScubaSteve is right. Being a referral means nothing when it comes to room. With member benefits, we have had different rooms every trip. This last trip was the worst room we had. We were in the 1000 section above Margueritas and the smell of deep fried food just about made me sick. Super small room. There was no way I was staying there for 11 nights. I asked to change but had to wait til the next day. Which sucked because when I get there I just want to get settled and enjoy my vacation. I don't know why some people have it in their head that just because you are a member or on a referral you get a better room? We have had no better rooms before members benefits or not

 

very true ! you can ask for whatever you want , you might even get it lol

 

We are members and have had 3103 which we loved the best, stayed in the 1000 block twice and the 5000 block, 5000 block was our least favorite. The 3000 bock is the most popular and therefore is the hardest to get, Its a matter of timing when you get there.
