I've been hearing rumours from several different sources for the last month or two but it seems pretty certain now that GOV will be closing and reopening as a family resort under the Dreams brand run by AM resorts.

Please dont send me any PM's about this I don't know anything more than posted here and will be out of contact for a while as I am flying to the UK tomorrow for a wedding.

Here are two snippets from official travel sites released today:

Sure gave the adult concept a good go. Now I will have 1001 child friendly places to choose from instead of 1000. Awesome.

If done right there is money to be made. It is a shame they can't see that.

Huh. The Temptation "feel" is hard to match, I'm thinking.

I WOULD like it if TTR would be able to do a full-tilt boogie renovation/facelift of the property, but I betcha the prices would go up even more dramatically.

And TTR could have done with competition to make them smarten up and improve a few things ??

If you thought TTR was sold out and expensive for 2014 just wait until next year!

Lack of competition is not a good thing!

Maybe Sara69 returns to entertainment staff?

That's interesting because we have been looking at gov or golden, and just recently the price at gov went up by close to $500 over what they had been at. Wonder why the change in the change of concept?

Dreams and secrets are nice resorts but there are already plenty to choose from in the Yucatan. Too bad they can't make it a "naughty" Secrets- luxury and great service! Thy wouldn't even have to redo the rooms. Oh well. On the plus side at least now the guesswork is taken out of my December trip. Kinda bummed for the reasons listed above.

Really too Bad. Having the two different places helps everyone out. And keeps both fighting for the business, and hopefully costs reasonable.
