Well I got me a new car last night! My car broke 100k miles and decided it was time. Bought me a Ford Focus a very basic car but it gets great gas mileage and It's kinda nice.

It's good to be good to yourself. Plus great gas mileage is a must these days.

    Congrats on the purchase.

I think its a nice car. my cousin bought one 2 years ago. her sister liked it so much that she went out and bought the same exact car a month later. same model, color, interior and all.

unless you make alot of money these days, those days of wanting a nice big truck or cool corvette are over. with the gas prices the way they're going, you got to ask yourself....how many miles do I get per gallon? instead of........how fast can I go?, or how much weight can I tow?

anyway.....congrats!!!! theres nothing like the smell of a new car!!!

I'm starting to get used to the car. I wanted my payments to stay about the same as I was paying for my Cougar but being that I got screwed on my Cougar deal I ended up being like $3,000 upside down. So, in order to get agreeable monthly prices I had to get the basic model with no power locks/windows and no wheels or any of the fancy upgrades. A girl at work has the same car and it's the SES model with Synch and power everything it's very nice would have like to had that one but my payments would have been about another $50-$75 per month and I couldn't warrant that.

Though as I get my bonus's and extra money I plan to buy some after market wheels/tires, put on power locks with alarm and keyless entry, Fog Lights, Spoiler, and possibly a sun roof. I've already got the tinted windows. I think in the long run I'll be happy with my decision. I plan to pay more on it as I can so I can pay it down and maybe in a couple years when I'm making better money I can go trade it in and buy what I want instead of what fits my budget and current needs.

    Good choice Marshall.

I bought a three year old 1.8TDCI LX last year and am well impressed with it. Not exactly been the smallest person on the planet I find it quite spacious and although not the best diesel engine in its class its good on fuel consumption I'm averageing around 30-33 round town and 44-46 on the motorway.

Just out of interest ( PM if you want ) what was the price of a brand new basic Focus over in the US ?

    Ian
