I may not be a Yankees fan, but I'm a baseball fan and I'm sure going to miss this historical place. What a ceremony both before and after the game, and Jeter's speech was pretty darn good as well. Thanks for the memories!!

Thanks for starting this thread Fletch! Man o man what a night. There I was on the couch with my dog watching the pre-game cermonies with tears in my eyes. Seeing all my childhood heroes in the cathedral for the last time. It was almost, I repeat almost, as good as when I went to Old Timers Day this summer.

And thank god the Yankees won last night!

I have been to more games there than I can count and I will remember and miss that place forever. Some of my favorite memories....

    - My first game there as an 8 year old with my Grandfather. We had seats behind home plate in the upper deck. I was in absolute awe when we walked out from the tunnel into the stands and saw the field for the first time. Grass greener than any other. More people than I had ever seen in my life. We got there early enough for batting practice and went down to field level to hang around for a while. They were playing the Angels that day and Reggie was on that team. I got to give Reggie a hi-five!! That was probably the best day of my childhood.

    - Hanging out with the Bleacher Creatures in my late teens and early twenties. I lived in NYC for a few years during that time and would go to games all the time. Since I was broke, all I could afford were bleacher seats and that was all I ever wanted. All you need to know about Yankee fans can be found in sections 37 and 39.

    - The Stadium itself. The House that Ruth Built. What a place! So intimidating for outsiders. Yet with a heart of gold. Everything from my beloved bleachers, the ramps leading down to ground level from the upper decks, the big bat outside, fans that boo each other if you get out of line. Speaking of...... where else will die hard fans yell "BEAT THE TRAFFIC!!" at you if you try to leave the game early even if the Yankees are winning or boo you if you miss a foul ball. And forget trying to wear another teams hat or jersey.

I truly loved that place. And while I am looking forward somewhat to the new Stadium, nothing will ever compare or erase the memories I have of Yankee Stadium.

    my favorite memories

I was at the Clemens game where he won his 300th and struck out his 4000th against the Cardinals (little did I know I'd end up hating the guy now haha)

Seeing my Braves hit 4 homeruns in a route over the Yanks

The best thing ever though that gets me ever time........Roll Call followed by BOX SEATS SUCK!!!

Hell yeah! Box Seats suck, Boston sucks, everything sucks.

I would rather sit in the bleachers than right behind home plate any day.

The bleachers version of the YMCA song (can't really repeat the lyrics here), the roll call, the gangbang song, Bald Vinny, Sheriff Tom, the cowbell chant. I love it all.

And let's not forget that there is a concert planned for Nov. 9th at the stadium as a farewell. One of the rumored performers is Paul Simon. I saw him play at Doubleday Field at the Hall of Fame on the Fourth of July a few years ago and would love to be there listening to him as a send off for the stadium.

But, I am conflicted about the concert as well. I kind of want the last performance there to stand as Mariano Rivera throwing his last pitch and an out at first base to end the game.
