I will be going to Cancun with a friend for a week.We will be there from 30th of Januuary till 6th of febuary. We are 2 single guys in our late 20's. I was looking at temptations but it seems more couples oriented. I am assuming single guys will greatly outnumber single gals. We will probably be going out to the clubs most nights. Can club tours be organized through the staff at the GP? I have basically narrowed it down to GP, Royal Solaris and Riu Cancun. Would GP be a solid choice? Anyone on here gonna be down on the same dates??
Seems like GP is about 80% couples. I'd say Riu - walking distance to clubs. A lot more action happening down there.
Thanks for your reply Brett. The Riu has been getting alot of bad reviews on trip advisor lately and the beach looks below par. Does anyone know if the renovations Ive been reading about on here are finished? Ive narrowed down to the GP and Royal Solaris. I am leaning more towards GP. No big deal if its mostly couples. I get along with everyone and surely there will be some single ladies somewhere in Cancun.:daveandmo: What are the tours of the nightclubs like with staff? Any idea on price? Do you get a VIP section and bottle service?
The Royal Solaris is nice, we walked down the beach and spent a day there last year. We stayed at it's sister hotel the GR three times. We also narrowed ours down to the Royal and the GP, but we like the idea of a adults only atmosphere. Price for nightly tours are about the same at any resorts. Plan to spend between $20 and $50 per person to get the VIP treatment. Most clubs serve well liquor. I think Daddy O's sets you up with liquor on the table an mixers so you make your on in a VIP sec. It's pretty cool. Coco Bongo is great, it will cost towards the higher end, and it is packed. It's well worth the money. Senior Frogs will be toward the cheaper end, it any where you go the Senor Frogs always parties hard. To answer the question yes you get VIP treatment at all, but only self serve bottles at some. You should be able to ask the resort staff and they will tell you. Hope this helps.
I have to agree with Brewster, I started goin to Temptations as a single guy in my mid 20's, if you plan on going to the clubs and meeting people out any way, then Temptations will definately be the most fun choice for you and adults only. Ive never had a bad time there and there will be single ladies there, obviously more couples but since you said you get along with everyone any ways, you cant beat the atmosphere at Temptations, the fun and the people there. Just a humble opinion from someone that was in your shoes once... P.S I still go down with my single buddies every year, Still just as fun as the first year. P.S.S. Hows one of my favorite Place doing.. I love Montreal, used to go there for business and fun all the time.
You can`t go wrong at Temptations. As a single guy, been 5 times, 6th time coming up in March. They escort you every night to a different club at 10:30pm. The couples to singles ratio is in the 75 to 25 range approximately, and is much more fun place than GP, with morning and afternoon pool games at the sexy pool!
Wow.. Thank you all for your insight. Looks like GP is all booked for the dates I want to go. Maybe I will end up going to Temptations after all..... Price looks very reasonable at about $1050 Canadian from Montreal all in. I gotta book fast before all my other options fill up. The only thing that bothers me about Temptations is the beach. It looks pretty dull. Is there a nice beach in walking distance or bus that I will be able to take advantage of? Thank you again for your replies... P.S. Montreal is awesome as always:icon_mrgreen:
The beach at Temptations is not that good, however no one uses it really, the sexy pool is where all the fun and games are and you will find yourself not wanting to leave the pool area, the beach has gotten a lot better in the last few years , and keep in mind Temptation is on the calm water side of the penninsula, so theres no waves. However all the beaches in Cancun are state owned, and yes they have bus stop right out front of temptations that will take you towards the clubs, in the center of town is a nice public access beach... but im sure you will find the beach at temptations adequate once you experience the sexy pool P.S. Swing by Ziggys and Thursdays and have a beer for me would ya, I miss those bars.
I loveeee GP! There are always a variety of people! They vary in age, relationship and everything else. When I went to temptations, there were a lot of couples, but there were still singles roaming around(many on day passes too). I love GP so of course I'm going to recommend it. I'm 24. I've been going to Golden since I was 18. This March will be trip #6. It just keeps getting better!
