We are brand new to this forum, but not new to a good time so we are certain this forum is a fit for us... so we are trying to decide between staying at the GP or TTR. It appears that the GP is the nicer of the resorts (5 star compared to 3), yet it is nearly half the price of TTR. Logic would tell us the contrary, but we are thinking it may be supply and demand. It seems like TTR would be much more fun, and we like fun. Any input is greatly appreciated.

well if you plan on going the first week of May is going to be a blast check out the MAYhem thread. The best rate for TTR is through alpharooms.com using the link that Steve has on this site. You will notice it is much cheaper using them you just need to book flight separate . Honestly I have never been to GP but know alot of people from TTR that has been and they all say there is no comparision when it comes to having fun and meeting new people. TTR is for sure the easiest way to make new friends. I was there in Jan and 2 couples had just returned from GP for a couple days and wish they had booked their whole trip at TTR. Some say the food is better but I cann't complain and don't go there for the food but for the friends you will make for life. Just my opinion.....I been to a couple other places and now that I have been too TTR I won't go anywhere else if I am looking to have fun and meet people.

If you do a serach (button is on the thin blue line above) and enter in the name of the thread you started here there is another thread with almost, if not exactly, the same name where folks that have been to both do a side by side comparison of the two resorts.

Looked to be a pretty honest assessment.

We are booked at GP for 3 nights after 7 nights at ttr.. lol
but as far as I know.. GP is not a 5 star .. its has the same star rating as ttr on the sites that i saw.. of course on there own site i just saw it says 5 star.. but on the other booking sites it say 3.5 stars..

We love ttr and have done, 7 day, 10 days, and 2 weeks, and find we always need a vacation after our vacation at ttr.. lol so we decide to do 3 days at GP to rest up before leaving for home..

We have been to both. GP's beach is beautiful. The beach at TTR is not as nice. The entertainment at GP well it's almost nonexistant. Entertainment at TTR is spot on and tons of fun. We wouldn't go back to GP because we found it to be too quiet for us and not as many friendly sexy people that is at TTR. We are going back to Temptations for 2 weeks in May. I hope this helps. I'm sure you'll have a great time at either place. Fun is what you make it, not what you expect it to be.

There's a sun-faded billboard advertising a 6-star resort in Puerto Peñasco. Well, maybe on a scale of 10 or 20 stars...

Still cracks us up every time we see it.

I have used alpharooms for the last 3 trips never a problem just make sure you call your Credit card company and tell them you are booking from a UK company so they don't decline your card

I was at GP twice last year and really liked it. The beach is beautiful, the tikki bar was great to party at, food was good and room nice. There is a thread on the GP page that compares the resorts. This May will be my first trip to TTR, however I did join some of the folks on the Boobs Cruise last time down.
