Okay - all you regulars/returnees/veterans have impressed us with not only your incredible knowledge but your willingness to share it. At the risk of seeming to ask a "trivia question" . . . Wife has celiac disease which is an allergy to gluten. Another resort we visited a year ago was great about tending to her needs; the chef frequently came out of the kitchen and gave her a list of what she could and could not eat. It was tremendously helpful - no reaction all week! Any of you have experiences with specialty diets like this at TTR? Thanks.

See some of you in 16 days!!!! :clappyinghappy:

I can definitely help you out with your inquiry...my hubby has celiac as well. We've been to the resort twice now since he was diagnosed. Does your wife have the little travel card that comes in spanish? If not let me know and I'll find the link for you. It's a great tool, especially in the specialty restaurants.

As for the buffet, just stay away from any gravies and sauces as well as the breads and pastries...typical stuff. For lunch we usually went to the Tex Mex...hubby really liked the fish dish which came with rice. He also at alot of salads and thankfully fresh fruit is in abundance.

We were nervous our first year going back to the resort after he was diagnosed but it was not that different from eating at home.

Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll do my best to answer them.

You guys are great! Less than an hour after I post a need I get a really helpful response!

We do not have the card to which you refer and would really appreciate the link! Thanks for the offer as well as the helpful info!

Here is the link...the cards are available in 51 languages. Just print out the spanish one. I even carry some english ones with me in my wallet for when we go out around our home town...very useful.

My wife has a wheat allergy so she takes her own rice pasta with her and they were happy to cook it up for her , she then kept it in the fridge to add to salds etc . They were always accommodating for her .
