I have been here in Cancun now for 6 months and so far have found a good hairdresser, nail place, doctor but I am too scared to find a place that does waxing and full down below waxing. I went to a place in the hotel zone three days before I got married in March and well walked away with burns to my eyebrows, lip and bikini area  thankfully it healed up before the wedding and we were able to cover the redness.

I have been told that Derma day spa down town is a pretty good place to go, any suggestions ? I am used to going to places that specialise in waxing back home in Oz and haven't been able to find any where here yet........

There is a nice salon, whose name escapes me at the moment, but if you are on Yaxchilan, go on Sunyaxchen (where 100% Natural is on the corner) and head toward Market 28. About half way to M28, there is a place on the right, on the corner of the 3rd street. They do waxing and do it well. Not sure about the "full down below" but hey, waxing is waxing.

This is in SM 24, Mz 28 if you speak in SM.

thanks heaps TJ, moving here was the easy part but finding out where the best places to go and to trust worthy ppl is the hard part. I have googled it too but the last place i read that had a good referral ended up being scary. Need a handbook for expats on where to go and where to steer clear from.

I don't know if they do waxing, but I go to Place Jadelle for my hair and they do a great job. Very professional and talented, with regards to haircuts and color. Give them a call. If they don't do waxing, they can probably refer you to someone reputable.

Oh, and after a HORRIBLE experience (awful hair color experience that took hours and left my hair a dark orange), I will not go back to, nor recommend the place TJ mentioned on Sunyaxchin for any service. Not only did the stylist do a fine job of f'ing up my hair, but the attitude from the stylist and management were unbelievable...acted like it was MY fault they didn't know how to match my hair color. The way they handled the situation is why I will never deal with them again. Strangely enough, I seem to have blocked the name of the place from my mind. Still not over the trauma, I guess....a year and a half ago.
