    It was a great time!

    Thursday
Flew out real early, arrived in Miami around 11. We got to hotel, wandered around a bit. Chose not to go anywhere yet, hung out around the pool. I asked Mike to go get me a beer, thinking he’d go to the hotel bar, but instead he went to a convenient store, not too close, looking for Coor’s Light. He came back with 2 6-packs for me & a 6-pack of Corona for himself. He wasn’t thinking, ‘cause no glass is allowed around the pool, so I bought him a Miami Dolphin’s mug, but we still had no bottle opener. He managed somehow.
Later on, went to the hotel bar. Sat down, and the first person I met was from Liverpool, England. I met him because he lifted up a cheek & farted in my direction. I said, “Thank you very much.” He was mortified. He didn’t realize anyone was sitting there. Oh well, it was a unique way to meet someone. He was there with a friend from Scotland. The next people I met were a couple from Arizona. I had a real good time with them.
Next it was on to the pre-party. There was lots of good music, people, food and alcohol. Mike was bored so he took a couple of drinks to the room with him, or so I though. When I went back to the room around midnight, he was no where to be found. I called & text-messaged him like crazy. Finally, I gave up and went to bed, after dead bolting the door. He showed up around 6 with a story about falling asleep at the pool.
    Friday
We took the shuttle over to the cruise ship. While we were in line, a woman came up, tapped Mike on the shoulder and asked how his head was. He says okay, with a puzzled look on his face. Apparently he had fallen asleep by the pool because she saw him (with his hands down his pants) and took his picture. I have to find that picture!
When we got on the ship, we wandered around a bit, checked out the cabin, and I unpacked. Mike wanted a nap, but we had to go to the talk they give at every trip on what to do in case of an emergency. He got angry, but everyone had to go. He did get over it quick, though, once he saw that everyone was there.
I think the biggest thrill for Mike was that he got to eat anything he wanted, whenever he wanted. We grabbed some lunch and wandered around some more.
Finally we started drinking. And boy, did we drink! There were bands playing all over the ship, and everyone was very excited and happy.
    Saturday
I started the day around 6, with Mike coming in the cabin yelling how it wasn’t his fault. He woke me up out of a deep sleep so I was very confused. Apparently there was a man in one of the bars that was drunk and was trying to pick a fight with everyone there. After a while (and I’m sure after Mike became mouthy), he went for Mike and put his hands on Mike’s throat. Mike punched him after that. If it had ended there, everything would have been okay, but Mike had to kick the guy in the face (I guess the punch knocked the other guy to the floor), breaking his nose. Security came, everyone there was backing up Mike. The FBI was mentioned as well as the Miami-Dade police. I’m finding out all of this in the security office, with Mike extremely agitated. Eventually, he calmed down and understood why I didn’t want him to press charges (Mike would have been charged also because of the kick).
A bit later, we headed out to Nassau to take a snorkeling tour. Mike had never snorkeled, and he found that to be one of the biggest highlights of this trip for him. The houses out there are amazing! After snorkeling, we wandered around Nassau for a bit. Then back to the cabin for a nap.
Dinner followed, then more drinks before the concert. Unfortunately, Donny Van Zant wasn’t on the trip (there had been a death in the family), but 38 Special put on a fantastic show (of course). Next up was Lynyrd Skynyrd, without Gary Rossington (pneumonia kept him from coming). They were great, too. The best part of the trip for me happened while Skynyrd was playing. When the song, “Simple Man” started, Mike climbed over furniture to be next to me. Found out I’m the “Best Mom Ever” according to the people we were sitting with. They had thought Mike & I were a couple, when they found out different, I was voted the best mom ever.
After the concert, we headed to the casino, where Mike managed to win $350. I lost, but it was fun, anyway. We were sitting next to a woman who was betting a lot ($100 per hand), which made the gambling even more exciting. The whole table cheered whenever she won.
We did meet Rick (guitar player in Skynyrd) and his wife was nice enough to take our picture.
    Sunday
This was kind of a lazy day. Mike fell asleep by the pool again the night before, but this time he woke up around 11 a.m. with his entire front burned. Mike wasn’t feeling well, so he slept most of the evening. Because of this, I didn’t go to the second concert, just stayed in the cabin watching television and reading. Another reason I didn’t go, we were broke!
    Monday
It was time to leave the ship. After breakfast, we got our bags and headed out. We walked off the boat and into customs with Billy Powell (piano player for Skynyrd) and Johnny Van Zant (lead singer for Skynyrd). Mike talked to Johnny for a bit and I talked to Billy. Unfortunately, we weren’t allowed to take any pictures, but we will never forget meeting them.
Go back to the hotel, and just hang out at the pool for the rest of the day. Again, we were broke!
    Tuesday
We stayed around the hotel until around 4 when we had to catch the flight home. This was a totally uneventful day.

This was a fantastic ship and we’re starting to save for Gimme Three Days 2008.
