Seems I have read in many different threads about people getting ill in April at Temptation. Any idea if it was the food or the drinks or what? The wife and I head down Friday and any advice would be helpful. Maybe stick to beer and wine (no ice or water involved)? Can anyone pinpoint what made them sick? Nothing worse then getting sick on vacation..

    Thoughts??

    Thanks,
    Steelersguy

Everyone have the same symptoms? Was it actually Montezuma's revenge or something different? or over indulgence?

I have no idea what made me so sick. I got there around 5 on Saturday and was sick on Sunday night. My friend had drinks with ice and ate practically the same dinner as me and she didn't get sick. If I go back I would consider taking antibiotics as soon as I got there but I know you shouldn't take them for no reason.

If you do get sick, I would recommend calling the doctor right away. He gave me a shot that stopped the symptoms (I couldn't keep anything down). It was a $130 for the visit to the room and the shot and then another $40 at the pharmacy for antibiotics and anti-nausea pills.

Good luck! Hope you don't get sick!

Mine was definitely not over indulgence. I had only two drinks that night. I was puking and had diarrhea about every half hour for 7 hours until I got the shot.

I wouldn't worry about having ice in your drinks, it's probably safer than drinking Mexican wine LOL. We've only gone in December/January and the only time we felt ill was from over-indulgance or the fact we were eating alot richer foods than we ate at home.

No idea what caused it either. Some of our group got sick and some didn't. In fact Steve got sick (not as severe as some) and I did not. I used the water to brush my teeth, I drank drinks with ice, I drank water served from the bar. It is a mystery.

Hopefully you won't have any problems.

We were there the first week of April and none of us got sick while on vacation...except my boyfriend the last couple of days had some diarrhea but the week since we have been back I think we all were sick, but no vomiting. I would say it is no different than coming back from any trip down south, the combination of excessive alcohol, sugary drinks, food, and different water. That's my opinion anyways but hopefully it wasn't actually something at the resort that is making people sick.

Yeah it sucked. I am usually a lot more fun than I was last week. But I made the best of it and had a blast Thursday night when I finally felt like myself again.
