We enjoy taking the UltraMar to Isla, both for the beauty of the views and the experience of being on the sea. We're aware of some options for getting out on the water, such as the party catamaran cruises (not our cup of tea), the Pirate Ship dinners and shows (we might consider it, if a guest of ours was interested sometime), and cruises on one or more of the cruise lines, but what are other options for those who might like to get out on the water on a sailboat or motor launch, or travel somewhere by ferry, or boat? (We don't personally sail anything bigger than a Hobbie Cat!)

    Suggestions?, with prices, please.

Or rent a boat by yourself.
Well i considder they always have a crew, you cant charter them bareboat.

Of course a bit more expensive starting at around 500US / 8 hours

Head down to Puerto Morelos and get on one of the snorkel boats off the beach. Usually about 250 pesos, trip to the reef, some good snorkeling and a bit of a boat ride.

I am still trying to make friends with a boat owner, haha, seems the best way to go. :D

I agree with CC - the best way is to make friends with a boat owner! haha

I used to be friends with a brother and sister who had a speedboat in Puerto Juarez. We spent an amazing Sunday hanging out off of Playa Norte a few years ago. Too bad we didn't keep in touch!

I am working on making friends with someone who has an amazing vacation home. Canuck and Gringation, if you could work on the boat thing, perhaps we could pool resources? ;)
