Has anyone tried using a Mexico sims card on an unlocked phone for Internet? I tried it last year, and the phone didn't work. I think it was a phone issue, and not the card. I got an unused iPhone 5 that I may get unlocked, and use.

You shouldn't have a problem using a Local SIM card in it. Telcel is the most popular here and you will probably get LTE most of the time. I used to do the Telcel route but switched to T Mobile so I can have a U.S. Number for business, it still operates on the Telcel network though.

I used the Mexico Sim Card that you order online and get before your trip. My problem was I followed the pictures and not the words. Once I sat down and relaxed at the hotel, I READ the DIRECTIONS and I had the phone and Internet working great with no problems. I had to follow a settings change that was written out clearly.
