I have been hitting the gym 5 days a week to get ready for the trip. My goal is to get a ripped 6 pack ab, but I enjoy beer to much. I may only have a 4 pack. And if I try a little harder a 4.5 pack. Who at our age (I'm 37) actually works out for a 1 week vacation besides me? I am crazy for torturing myself.
Ha. I am with you. I am 36. I lost 60 pounds in the last year and a half. Started by working out hard core and actually gained weight. Then joined weight watchers and the combo of eating right and working out did the trick. It all paid off with a very nice week at the resort Nothing like people thinking you are younger than you are. Not ashamed to admit that I get more of a kick out of people thinking I am younger than I am than Jen does. Hey it is 2010. If my college friends were reading this I would be in for an ass kickin.
i gave up, each year i say im getting in shape , but like you, I like my beer too much and im too lazy to hit the gym, so my man boobs will be bouncing in the jacuzzi again this year
as someone who has been doing it for years, i tell u its 80% diet. working out alone wont do it. i get in shape every year for my trip(although i workout year round). i think its worth it. this year i'ver really hit the diet hard and it has paid off. Abs are looking good with 4 weeks to go
hear ya dan not somethign you can fix in a month - granted you can tone up in a month but for me (i i was about 230 four years ago) i realized it was time to do something and just made a few slight lifestyle changes and it has certainly helped cut out eating french fries and fried food all the time cut out sodas and high fructose corn syrup all the time cut out breads and bad carbs all the time cut out donuts every morning eating more vegetables and fruit granted i still eat and drink these on occasion - just not every day - perhaps once a week or every other week and it has really made a difference over the long haul - making some lifestyle decisions on food and liquid intake rob
Its all about the diet. We work out with Suzanna on www.bodyrock.tv Spend 20 minutes a day with her, you'll like it. Now for the bad news... On both of our trips this year, Dec and Feb, I gained 4% of my bodyweight in a week. I (Mike) don't weigh alot but I am in good shape. My 6 pack is gone by day 4.
I (les) am 39 and try to train 5 times a week and I'll never have a 6 pack. As others have said it's a mixture of diest and training but my diet is crap. Sometimes I wonder why I both but Lynfa loves the lumps and bumps so it's worth while then.
At age 30 started gaining weight, got 30 lbs over my usual and Janet commenting about my stretch marks on my back got me to wake up. Switched to diet pop, lots of fruits and veggies, and tons of carbs (doctor atkins and I don't see eye to eye). Started doing some free weights at home and back down to my cruising weight. Janet works out hard, she is a 5 mile a day walker/runner, has 3 children but you would never know. As hard as she works at it, I couldn't allow myself to get too out of shape. It is a lifestyle, the longer you go the easier it is.
