I was thinking about asking for a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor overlooking the sexy pool. I was planning on slipping the person checking us in a $50 bill. Is this nessessary? We are getting there on a Friday about noon. We also have 2 other couples going with us. Do we all have to pay more to get good rooms by each other? Any input or tips are appreciated. Thanks.
If you are all checking in together, they usually try to put you in the same general area if possible, If your facing the water, the left hand side of the sexy pool is Premier members builings, in front of the sexy is open and I think if you just ask , you shouldnt need to tip at all for that. However I hated the 3rd floor rooms, the view is a little better, but so many damn stairs.. sounds like no big deal now until its 4am and 30 beers later.... lots and lots of stairs and walking to get to your room lol
While on this topic, we have a "deluxe suite" showing as our room on our all inclusive, it was the only option offered. When we arrive is it out of the question to see a jacuzzi room and if we like it is it normal to be able to upgrade to one? How does that kinda thing work
Depending on availability you can ask at check in and they will show you a jacuzzi room and allow you to upgrade and you can just pay the difference. Ive never had one, some love them , so say its not worth the upgrade. So check it out first and see if its available and if its what you want.
OK... exceptions may exist (some claim it has worked in the past) but tipping at the front desk will not get you a better room and if they accept it, it could cost them their jobs. Now.. you can go look at the room you get and it if is not acceptable, go back to the front desk and ask them for another room. Getting there at noon can help but rooms are not usually ready till 3 PM unless they have some open from the night before. So when you arrive at noon, you can ask for the rooms... but as Back's has said, Building 4, the 4 story building next to the pool is for Premiere Members, unless you are there for only a few nights and will be out before they are needed for the next group of preimier members arrive I wouldn't count on getting in unless you sign up to be a Premiere member while you are there. Asking for rooms together will also limit your options. As they will need three empty rooms next to each other all vacating that day. So back to checking out your room, and for that matter asking for your rooms together... The front desk will do everything it can to meet your requests. Seriously, they will, if they can. They may not be able to the first day you are there but may a day or two later if you are going to be there a while. Sorry.. I think I am rambling.. but tipping the front desk will not get you a better room. Asking nicely and working with them as they do the best they can will. Sometimes they can meet your requests and some times they cannot. Jamie
We always ask for a room by Paty O's - some people hate those rooms because of the noise... we love them because they are close to everything (and I always forget to take stuff out) so it's not a trek back to the room all the time. As for the noise... well we are in Paty O's every night so we are part of the noise lol. We never worry about the view from our room as we are never in it during the day. We would never pay for a sexy pool view as we will be by the sexy pool all day so there is no need lol. The front desk moved us from a "quiet" room last year to one by Paty O's after 2 days as one was not available when we checked in, as Jamie said they really do everything they can for you. We e-mail them before we arrive with our request for a Paty O room and they always have record of it and ALWAYS try to get you what you ask for. Maybe just an e-mail to them before you go will help. I AGREE I LOVED OUR ROOM LAST YEAR MOST WOULD HAVE HATED IT BUT ITS WAS GROUND LEVEL RIGHT BESIDE THE BUFFET AND MY BACK PATIO DOORS WAS A HOP SKIP AND A JUMP TO RESERVE MY CHAIR OR GO WAKE PAUL UP.SHORT STAGGER TO THE ROOM. oopps sorry for caps
Great info I was wondering the same thing-Paty O's might be the trick-the less distance we have to stagger the better
We have had two rooms right at PatyO's, ground level, walk out to the sexy pool. Totally sucked...sooooo loud...don't do it...hopefully we get it again this year! LOL Remember last May the concern was getting bumped to the sister resort, don't know if it happened to anyone. Anyway, we arrive on the 29th, so if anyone needs to crash...
