Here's one for you geeks. Sometimes hubby and I both notice that one of our cell phones will display an icon saying that the call is not secure. This happens often when you call from the Cancun airport. But also happens in other random places all over the state (he just called from Carillo Puerto and got this icon). Both our phones are Sony Ericsson phones, but I don't think that's relevant. Do you have any idea what this means? Does this icon actually indicate that someone is listening to a call? Or does just indicate that the call isn't secured and could be listened to? I sort of thought from watching all those spy movies that no cell call was secure anyway.
I have always wondered what that meant to, I thought it was just my phone. Looking forward to hearing what people have to say. Yess
Just a wild guess, but it probably means that your phones cant access the preferred "gsm" network, so they go to the "analog" and therefor unsecured system..... GSM is digital so you'd need a computer and access to the system to decrypt the streams if you want to listen in on calls Analog systems (a throwback from the first "cell phones", and still used for low signal areas and as backups) are more like hand radios and can be listened to by anyone on the same frequency. It used to be very common for people to listen in on random phone conversations with their police scanners before everything went digital. Just to be safe I would recommend you discuss your plots to take over the world only in person.
