Hey! I've been reading the forum for a couple of days already. We're a gay couple from Montreal, looking to come to TTR from april 9-16. I've read about Temptations being a LGBT resort, but when i discovered this forum, I realized it was mostly heterosexual. It would be our first time in a adult resort. We're pretty much Party People and usually stay up late, but I was wondering if this was the right place for us. We're not in the "lifestyle" or swingers or anything, but if ever there are some other guys that happen to get along with us who knows - after a couple of tequila shots - what kind of trouble we could get into I'm a little bit skeptical about the vibe at TTR. I do want to go to have a good time but don't wanna feel i'm in a hyper sexual "sauna" kinda resort 24-7. As newbies, what is there to know about TTR that will make me chose this place rather than another resort? Thanks for your replies! :azzangel:
We've hung out with a few gay couples at TTR, they seemed to fit it just fine. Nobody cares, nobody gives a shit. -Ingram
You wouldn't feel uncomfortable at this resort but if someone described it as an LGBT resort that would be a misrepresentation. Expect a gay population under 10%. Hope it helps you make your decision.
We have been to quite a few different resorts in Cancun. And I would actually say Temptation is one of the better places for a gay couple to go. At other resorts, prude people would point out the random topless girl on the beach or older conservative people would point out the gay couple at the pool. However, at Temptation, not too many prudes or old conservative people are there. Temptation folks accept everyone, and truly nobody gives a shit what your sexuality is as long as you like to have fun.
As for the overall vibe, it's more playful and flirty than sex sauna. You'll definitely see things you wouldn't at a family resort, but it's not some kind of massive "let's all get in the pool and start groping" thing...Most people are just hanging and having some good laughs. It'll be a good fit for partying--in a lot of resorts "adults only" means "quiet please, I want to read my Kindle all day." Zzzzzz. There were only a few gay couples there last June, but they were folded into the group and had a great time.
Temptations is filled with the friendliest, most accepting, least uptight bunch of Republicans that you'd ever want to meet. You'll be just fine there. I say go for it. Temptations isn't a LGBT resort. It's a party resort. But the truth is that nobody gives a shit about what your deal is. So if you can not judge me for whatever I'm into, I won't judge you for whatever you're into. And neither of us should judge that guy over there with the midget, the donkey, and the zipper mask. Cause we all are on vacation and none of us chose to stay at the Ritz Carlton. And there's probably a reason for that.
I'll be there with some friends from Apr 12-19, so you'll definetly be cool in our books. This is my 6th Trip to TTR and we usually end up hanging out with the gay guys. So much fun and always the life of the party !!! See you there !!!
