    Does anyone check theirs regularly?

I do and for some reason my miles per gallon, km per litro, or whatever you please, has dropped dramatically in the last month.

Talked to my mechanic who tells me this is "normal" as Pemex is now selling "Summer Gas", supposedly a blend with more ethanol, hence less fuel efficiency. Another guy, not a mechanic, but he could be, said this was exactly what was happening to my mpg.

I usually buy 40 liters when my fuel warning light comes on. Until the last month, with city driving only, I would get 130-140 miles until the fuel light came on.

Now I am getting 110-120 with no change in enginer performance, driving habits, etc. Nothing to justify a drop in mpg of almost 20%. My car checks out fine.

WTF? Any ideas? I have never heard of such a thing.

I really havent noticed that it has. I am a hyper miler, I have a manual trans. and I coast down hills and roll to all stops and do a little drafting, keeping my speed under 60 MPH and I get about 40 miles to a gallon with my 2005 Saturn SL2. Its rated at 34 mps highway miles.

I will check it, in a few days I will need gas and let you know what mileage I am getting. I do check it regularly and havent noticed a change. I would notice a 20% drop for sure.

Hey Doug we had food and beers at your place watching the USA vs Canada olympic hockey game. You remember us? I think we were the lone US team supporters.

It was a real nail biter, didnt think I would get out with my life after we had tied the score. LOL Hope you are well!!

Gonzo. Doug is great. A bit on the crazy side but still great. We have a big group going Sat for the UFC and a "meet up" for ppl from this forum. It will be hard to talk with me watching the fights. But my goodest friends will be doing the same. The non UFC fans will be fine though as they won't have to listen to me go on about things. LOL. Wish you were here amigo. You could stagger to your hotel as you well know.

Hey TJ a milage update. I went and filled up after work and I had 390.1 miles and my tank took 9.275 gallons. So on this fill I was getting 42.059 MPG, and that is better than what I had been getting in the winter.

I am sure using the heater all winter does a little to my milage but I have been using my A/C lately too and that will effect milage, I think.
