Hello everyone. I just had a quick question. Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) with Galenia Hostpital and/or with any gynecologist there? I just found out that I am pregnant and the medical that we get from my husband´s job is located at Galenia. So far we have no experience there. Also, if there are any recommendations for other hospitals for giving birth and gynecologist it would be greatly appreciated!!
Congratulations! Can't help you but want to recommend that you do your research. The C-Section rate in Cancun is absurdly high. So you will likely have a battle on your hands to avoid having one. The more information you have the better off you'll be.
Congratulations! We (or should I say Jannet) are using a Dr at Galenia. I'll post her details when I get chance to ask Jannet. We've only seen her twice so far but she seems very nice and capable.
Congratulations!!! My friend recently delivered her baby at Galenia and loved the experience. Her first was delivered at Amerimed, and said both were equally as good - one just being newer. Her baby was delivered naturally. I am using her ob/gyn Dr. Medellin, and I have updated his info in the "Local Services" tab. He works at both Amerimed and Galenia. He is very well known and supposed to be one of the "best". Good luck!!!
Hi Tiffany I am a doula- which means I support women in childbirth. I have a fair bit of experience with Gynaes in Cancun and the ONLY doctor I have come across that truly truly suports a natural/respectful birth is Dr Aguilar at Clinica Victoria. Although he can and does catch babies at Galenia. Galenia has a wonderful birth pool, though not all Drs will use it. Feel free to call me if you would like any more info. Good Luck Tracey
Tiffany sorry I forgot to mention there is a very very good midwife from Germany based down in Playa .Its just another option - if you want her details please PM me- I have worked with her at homebirths and she is very kind, caring and patient.
