Not just them, but many of us too. T decided to forgo any travel this year, but is ok for me to take a week or so...problem is the price of travel (getting here to there) is getting so high now, I have trouble seeing considering anything but perhaps an extended trip to Padre Island. Prior to all this I was looking at flights to Europe, Hawaii, Mexico and Canada. So much for the annual "great adventure" for us
One of the HUGE benefits of living in a city like Chicago is that it's a biker friendly city and has bike lanes all over the place, so if one doesn't want to drive for whatever reason, you can park the gas guzzler in the garage and bike it pretty much anyplace you want to go. I bike to work now as do many of my co-workers....it saves a TON of money! I've even got co-workers who bike year round....in the snow, rain, sleet, whatever, they use the pedal power. We are now even starting to see folks from the surrounding suburbs biking into the city to save money. Michelle
I know what you mean. I just spent over $1000 for 2 tix to Cabo!! Cabo is only a 3+ hr flight from here. 3 months ago those same tix were only about $600...I figured that I better buy them now before they went up even further!! Hopefully you will get a chance to get a way for at least a "small adventure" before the end of the year.
it is 1100 dollars for two tickets from toronto to philadelphia and thats only a 50 min flight..how does one justify that? :-|
Get the train. I went from Toronto to Penn in NYC once, took 12 hours but the views were quite good and there was loads of room on the train with the airline seats. If I remember right it was ony about $100 aswell ( but this was back in 2004 and the trip covered Monday-Wednesday ) . Enjoy. Ian
I would agree with Ian, if you can afford the time, hop the train....much more senic and you can drink your arse off along the way! Michelle
