I'm sure this has been asked before... but does anyone have recent experience with upgrading their room when they check in? We booked through a travel website, as initially it was a lot cheaper than going through Temptation so I wonder if that'll have any effect on options. But anyways, after rescheduling twice, we are in the garden view and the princess wants to be in a tower so I was curious if anyone has done this recently? Thanks. Also, anyone who reads this should go ahead and book a trip for the first week of August!
Yes you can upgrade at checkin if the rooms are available. We went once and if we did the membership meeting it was only $100/night extra to upgrade from Garden to Lush. We did it, well worth it.
Thanks, good to know. I'm thinking they'll have some due to the covid situation but we'll see. This is our 4th trip and we haven't done the meeting yet. I've been waiting to have something to negotiate a couple hours of my time with, this sounds like it.
We normally book a Garden View and ask for rates on an upgrade when we check in. The room to us isn’t critically important, but we have had a good experience with upgrades at a good rate.
I don't know who you booked through or whether it's refundable, but right now, Expedia (and probably other sites) are almost giving away rooms.
If you see a good deal on a 3rd party website, you can call the resort and see if they will match it. I always prefer booking directly with the resort as they can be more flexible if something comes up.
We've booked directly thru the resort last 4 trips. But booked thru Orbitz for this upcoming late Aug trip. Great pricing for jacuzzi room, only $80 more than a garden room, & get this, actually $20 less to book United flights, so better than free airfare. Both room & air has free cancellation policies...
