We dont accept friend request from someone without at least a profile pic. And we have gotten several.
Id bet most people feel this way.

You bet! Everyone feels that way. We don't post a lot of pictures but we have always had real pictures of us. Post a pic and don't creep people ;)

I always go to their Profile/history/posts to see what and how there posting , trollers are usually easy to pick out.
Also a good troller will put a fake picture , but someone with a sensitive job won,t,, so I don't see that as a good filter.

    Thats how i feel :)

I haven't really had a problem. Tons of first timers don't have pictures until after their trip. Their are some others that going to Temptations would be a problem for family or work and may never post a decent picture. If you friend them than feel they're a problem than unfriend them. Most of the long term people have great pictures and tons of posts and are safe to friend. If the friend request seems to come from no where and they have nothing on their profile, no pictures, and only one or two posts than I might just reject the friend request. Maybe I have just been lucky. Do whatever you want - so if your not sure just reject the friend request.

Agreed. There are a lot of people who are slow to upload avatar pictures, a week or two of partying can do that:bandit:

Our theory has always been...if someone we know/family/friends, see our pic on here....wouldnt that mean that THEY are here also?? lol

We dont have a problem with people without pics, their preference.... just prefer to see who we are "friending". :icon_lol:

I think I will chime in on this. I am one not to post a picture. Some people have jobs where being affiliated with a site and resort like this could be harmful.

I have had people reject my friends request and I respect that. However in 2013 I had one member be a total bitch to me and sent me some nasty messages about not posting my picure on this site. Fast forward to my TTR trip. I ended up meeting a ton of fun people and at one time we had over 30 people in one of the small tubs in the pool. This same couple tried to make friends with us but I knew who they were because they had pictures here. I politely told them that I was not interested in hanging out with them and I told them my screen name on here. Needless to say I think they regretted how they treated us here.

Moral of my story I had no problem with those would not accept our request because I understood. Just don't be an ass to them because they do not feel comfortable posting pictures. If you look at my profile now I have 5 pages of friends. I too am leary of trolls but you don't have to treat people badly and try to prove a point like was done with us

We're one to post a picture for our avatar that doesn't really show our faces (as you can see). Both of us have jobs where we wouldn't want people seeing us on here. I also don't post on here all that much since we haven't actually been to TTR yet (going in May) so there's not a lot of topics I can give input on. But would understand if someone were to reject a friend request because of that. We wouldn't want to accidentally friend a troller if we had more pictures on here.

I can understand some have good reasons for not posting an avatar or profile pics. But I do think all should be cautious engaging with anonymous people, particularly those that don't post in the forum.

One popular tactic, and I have banned several people for this, is to create a profile, rarely engage with others in public if at all but send friend requests (to view friend only albums) then scores of PM's, complementing people on their album pics. Once they get a 'bite' they turn the conversation sexual and ask for more pics and to communicate by email.

These people sometimes use fake profile pics so are not always easy to recognise. But my advice would be to check their profile, do they actively participate in the forum, have they visited Cancun before or posted dates in an upcoming roll call?

We are a community and in order to get the best from our community both in making friends beforehand and meeting up when on vacation it is necessary to be visible and obviously be real people. No one wants to engage with a faceless profile with zero posts, and while it is fine if people want to just read and stay anonymous I don't really think they should be soliciting conversations randomly in private if they're not willing to do so in public.
