Is there internet and Wi-Fi service? We offer Wi-Fi internet access in the public areas of the resort. If you have your own laptop you can get the access code for $15 USD and you can use it for 24Hrs. If you need a computer, you can ask for it at Front Desk and pay $5 USD every 30 minutes. I have not found any free areas at the resort. I did buy one off the cards from the vending machines at the resort and was not impressed. The reception was spotty at best.
There is Wi-Fi - its spotty in certain places but improvements have been made over the years and we had no issues in our room last time to check work email and check in for our flight home. And the pricing is correct, it is not free. Very few resorts in MX offer free wi-fi. You can buy a 7-day pass for like $70US or even buy an hour for like $6. That price is per device as the code they provide only works on one device.
yup not free. cheaper now than previous years, $35 for 7 days (I think it was near $65 for 5 days in 2013) the vending machine that delivers coupons for day use is comparably criminal at $20 per day. It is MX so speed can vary during the day.
If you walk towards the beach & turn left, walk along the beach, there's a little bar past the pirate ship. They have free wifi if you order a beer/drink.
TTR is one of those resorts that is in the dark ages when it comes to wifi. If you are a Premier member they will let you have a log in for ONLY one device...so you can chose it to be phone, Ipad, or laptop. Even.. then the service is weak at best. This is typical of general 3 star resorts. If you stay at Secrets, Iberostars, El Dorado, or Hidden Beach the wifi is great with unlimited devices I have found. Premier members have complained about it for a long time, but they don't think its important. The day is coming when decent wifi is going to be as important/common as having clean towels in your room.... wifi is part of life these days especially when guest have legitimate reasons such as business or family issues needing attention.
Desire has free wifi just saying...and it felt good to be connected with the world again after coming out of TTR. my wife had to submit papers tht she wrote at the Desire (yes 2x20 page essays although one outside with barely anything on bt still on vacation no way for me) bt again have to think about paying for the next years vaca too So where was I oh ya in TTR it feels like u r in stone ages unless u think paying 15 bucks a day for crappy internet tht u really would nt be sober enough to use for more then 2 hours a day is a good deal.
From what I understand, "members" get free wifi in their room. If you need any wifi (I have some work I have to get done while there), then hit me up at the sexy pool.
How far it is from TRR? Because I generally go to Starbucks near crystal resorts and they have free wifi and really fast. Only drawback was to take bus to go there, but anyway I was going to clubs in that area so it was worth to stop there.
