For those of you who have gone to TTR and Desire on the same vacation....

We are considering adding a trip to Pearl after Temptation this year and I have a few questions for those of who have done so.

To begin, I think TTR first to party and Pearl second to relax is the only way to go, right?

So my questions are:

Is 4 days at each the way to go? (We’ve been to TTR three times but this would be out first trip to a Desire.)

How do I make arrangements with USA Transfers for the three trips?

Finally, what day(s) would you consider ‘can’t miss’ at each property? And what day would be best to crossover?

K&j: yes that is the way we would do it bc Desire frequently has buy 3 get the 4th free deals

How do I make arrangements with USA Transfers for the three trips?
K&j: you can do a custom request on their website. Email them if you can figure it out. Have them take you to TTR then to Desire and then to the airport if u know exactly when u want to go from TTR to Desire. We play it by ear and instead book USA Transfers from airport to TTR and then desire to airport and then get a taxi from ttr to Desire when we r ready. Pay with pesos as the taxi exchange rate sucks

Finally, what day(s) would you consider ‘can’t miss’ at each property? And what day would be best to crossover?
K&j: so ttr is almost always a great party. Desire is a great party on the weekends in a better atmosphere. So I would try to be sure I am at desire on Friday and Saturday for sure.

We do it opposite
We have split trip twice.
We do Desire first....then TTR.
Ease into vacation and work up to TTR party.

Usually on a split trip, we arrive to Cancun in need of a re-charge.
We can unwind at Desire and then after a few nights we are ready to rev up and off to Mecca we go.
And itbis closer to airport, so can stay longer on departure day before transfer to airport.
Many folks do TTR first and then move on to either Desire.

As far as what dsys are best
I would say it is the same.
Sundays and Mondays are low key at Drm and TTR.
Thurs thru Saturday are the best days.
I would say Friday and Saturday are better at TTR if forced to choose.

We did this last year: we started with Desire RM and then finished with Temptation. (If you're interested, here are my trip reviews: Desire RM and Temptation)

We had a great time at both resorts. If we had to do it again, I think we'd start with Temptation and then finish with Desire (RM or Pearl) As a personal preference, Temptation is a great party, and so is Desire, but Desire is not as supercharged. So it's like a buffer between Spring Break and back-to-home.

As for the best days to go, I'd check the theme nights posted at each resort to see what you'd prefer.

Having only done it once.... I think we'll do it again the same way. TTR --> DRM (or Pearl)

The atmosphere at each hotel is quite different. For us we enjoyed getting out vacation party started on a high note at TTR, letting go and getting into vacation mode. Showing up at DRM and seeing how much more laid back it was was (honestly) a little bit of a downer, HOWEVER we were pretty well known quickly as we were in the social / volunteer for everything mode and played many of the games. I'd like to think we brought a little excitement with us. If we had done it the other way around, I don't think we'd have been as comfortable at Desire (that said, it was our first time...). The more laid back atmosphere also leads a bit of recovery before you return to "real life".

 

Our last trip to TTR we were talking to this couple in the hot tub. They were staying in the penthouse at TTR, not that it matters. Anyway they left Desire, not sure which one, because they said it was boring, and nothing going on. This was last week of October. Talked to another couple at Bash and they were saying how much they loved Desire.

No right or wrong answer for any couple. Gather as much info as you can, and decide what you want out of your vacation. For us it will always be TTR.

 

We did 5 days at TTR, can't miss lingerie night, then we did 4 days at DRM, then actually 4 days at the new Margaritaville Hotel in Hollywood Florida. Got home after all of that and rested 4 days.
