Can we get a breakdown of the places you need reservations for and ratings on each? Also could someone explain the menu for the meals that you do not need reservations for? Are there any vegan or vegetarian options? Thanks, Tom & Arielle
There are two restaurants for which you'll need reservations. They are Il Piacere (Italian) and The Village Wok (Asian). To make the reservations, you'll need to go to the Seafood restaurant, Bellavista, between 10AM and 12PM daily. They make reservations for three days at a time, and reservations for the earlier times fill up pretty quickly. As for the food itself, we found The Village Wok to be our favorite. We loved everything we ate there, and since we dined there twice (and tasted each others' food), that covered the majority of the menu. =) The portions were reasonably sized, and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable, and we neither waited too long for our food, nor felt rushed (which I believe is the purpose behind their reservation system). I seem to recall some vegetarian options, but I'm not sure about vegan. Our second favorite would be Il Piacere, and my review would be much the same. The flavored coffees are quite a treat, if only for the presentation. I was slightly disappointed in their tiramisu, as it seemed to be mostly mascarpone, and not as much coffee infusion. But that's just me. Everything else we had was delicious, and we received the same flawless service there. Again, I recall vegetarian fare, but cannot be sure of vegan. We also really enjoyed Bellavista, and happened to arrive at a time when they weren't particularly busy, so we received great service there, too. The food was very yummy and looked pretty on the plates (though not as fancy as the Asian or Italian places). I honestly don't remember if there were vegetarian or vegan plates, but I'm sure they offered something. Margarita's is the Tex-Mex place, and has very casual fare. We arrived just before they closed to prepare for the dinner hour, so there weren't a lot of menu options, but I enjoyed my Mexican pizza and Chris was satisfied with his burger. I'm sure if we'd dined there during the dinner hours, we might have been more impressed. El Embarcadero is the buffet, and you'll probably have the best luck finding vegan and vegetarian options there . . . But it's a buffet, and while not a food snob, I've yet to encounter any buffet that particularly impressed me. The food was pretty good though, especially the made-to-order omlettes in the mornings. And they had some tasty pastries there, too. You can also find some late night noshings at Paty O's, which is fine if you're into burgers and fries. I know there is a spot on the Express Check-In form where you can list any dietary preferences/requirements. I'm sure if you let them know, they'll try to accommodate you. Dang, talking about all that food is making me hungry . . . LOL! =)
