Several, like myself have lost their voices. Got here on Sat Oct 26th and starting losing voice on Wed Nov 1 BC. All gone now and can hardly speak. No other real symptoms though...very strange. Looking back I was real tired a couple days before. Still a great trip with all the other H&Hers with many still here.
We both ended up with stomach issues while we were there. We have never had stomach issues on any Mexican trip before. We are always careful with what we eat, drink and the water we ingest (only bottled). K8 is still having stomach issues and we have been back for over a week. Mine lasted about 4 days, two there and two at home. Still a great trip! We met lots of great new friends and cannot wait to go back! The next time we are going to see our doctor before going to make sure we have medication for the stomach issues just in case
I lose my voice by the end of every trip, and it takes a few days to come back. People on here used to surmise with respect to the old TTR that it was from mold spores in the A/C system. Next April, we are staying in the Tower, with a new A/C system, instead of our usual Garden room. Wondering if that will make any difference. I have always chalked it up to self-abuse while on holiday.
Yes, understand that and has happened a bit before. But this was a different with more of an upper respiratory infection thing...think not a virus. With all the kissing hello, goodbye, etc I am sure it just got passed around and some like myself just caught the crud In fact, might of brought it from home or airplane, etc...who knows??? But I am quite sure I infected some and profusely apologize. Sorry...sore throat and lots of thick yellow mucus in throat in a choking way hacking it up much of the time. My voice returned a little each day and is certainly mot fully returned. As it has I have just tried to talk louder which then just made me lose my voice all over again! I just cannot seem to shut up. Going home today...day 11 and still have issues hacking this morning. May grab some antibiotics before we go just in case.
We arrive on the 23rd and after reading about all the food poisoning and respiratory(voice) issues I'm kind of worried. Both the wife and I have had food poisoning issues before at other resorts and it sucks. Heading to Temptation knowing they are having these problems is not fun.
Honestly. Why worry? Bad stuff can happen anywhere. I’m not surprised that there are viruses (respiratory or stomach related) anytime we go to a resort but especially TTR. All of the shenanigans and lack of sleep take a toll on your body. Spoiler alert: it can also rain while you are there too. There is only so much you can control. So concentrate on what you can do and enjoy yourselves! Just don’t do what @FakeNewsTeam did and use plastic wrap. I don’t think it worked for Paul!!!
Correct! All of my proper planning failed to protect me at all. Snd yes, it rained every day/night but was over with quickly and the Sun came out again.
