As I have posted before, Alicia and I had out FM3 - retired prior to arriving here in Cancun. It took 7 weeks and 6 trips to immigations just to register our address here....what a pain. Then Alicia got hired by the Royal Sands and she had to go through a lot of it again to get a work permit. It took 9 weeks and probally 20 trips to the lawyers office to get that completed. So anyone looking to get a work permit be prepared for a lenghtly wait. I understand its getting better but others where Alicia works expierenced the same wait. So please don't expect to get hired and start work right away. I understand that some places will let you work while awaiting the work permit but not all. Just a heads up.
