fm3 current temporary car permisso also??

    cop stopped me downtown for my sticker wanted to give ticket.imported my car 5 years ago i heard if my fm3 is current i dont have to renew my sticker. cop did not agree. told him i would go to police station give me my 850 peso ticket. well he thought it over asked me for coke cola money for him and his friend and he left. Can some one send me that law????i found it on here a year ago.:icon_rolleyes:

    The law is, so long as your visa is good, your permit is good, what the transitos think or want the law to be is an entirely different matter. Technically, I'm pretty sure that the local transitos don't even have the authority to issue such a ticket since that is an Aduana/federal thing not something under local municipality control. But the law means very little to most transitos which is the main reason I drive a locally plated car.

    Here is a copy of the law that I got from Christian at the Banjercito office in Puerto Juarez. Article 7.2 is the pertinent bit.

    I had heard all this before, but this year was the first time I had got it from someone in the know.

    That said, I continue to renew my permit annually because I drive so far (back to Canada annually)
