Hey anybody ever used Sunwing? We looked it's a Canadian company. We got a direct flight From Cincinnati,Ohio to Cancun next week round trip direct flights. We just never heard of them and they don't allow any second bags checked. And weight limit is 20 KG or 44 LBS, $20 extra for every kilo over that and 11 lbs max for carry on. Wow thats strict. They do offer an Elite upgrade of $40 per person per flight so thats $160 for the trip for 2 of us and that gets you and xtra 22 lbs of luggage per person and a bigger seat on the plane. My travel agent said there are coupons out there to get the upgrade at half price. If anybody has used them and have any suggestions on where to get the coupons please let us no. Hi guys we've used Sunwing a number of times and haven't had any issues. I would recommend the upgrade. But it would depend on the flight time. From here our flight time is about 6hrs and its to long in those cramped seats. I have heard some negitive reports from others on CC. So maybe they will speak up. Cheers and have fun
Yea our flight time is only 3 hours. But I am 6"2 so little more leg room would be nice. Last year we used U.S. Airways and got slapped with overweight fees that were insanely high and they allowed 50 lbs. But it was 4 am in the morning so what else was I to do but pay the overage fee.
Sunwing is a respectable Canadian company. Very popular operator up here obviously. Im 6,2 as well and dont mind the small seats for the 4 hour flight to Cancun.
I enjoy sunwing and flying w them again on thirs morning to TTR We upgraded tho as I have too many friggen shoes. See u there fire dude and dudette
Thanks y'all lol. Just talked to the travel agent. She had no luck on coupons. O Well!! We just got back from buying new luggage cause the airline busted 2 of ours last year and refuse to do anything about it. So last year we both way over packed and I mean way overpacked for a 10 trip we thought we would need a lot more than we used. So this year we are going to pack and then unload it and pack half of what we packed and that should put us good on weight. Annd we bought the hard sided luggage 28 inch 6 lbs. so that gives 38 lbs left a piece. LOL !! Can't wait to see everybody again this year.
I always over pack.. I can't for the life of me figure how a women can pack just a carryon... mentioned that I like to try and Jeff started laughing at me..
Yep so do we. Last year at the ticket counter we were way overweight and it was 4am. So we just had to pay the overgae of $190.00 plus the $25.00 per bag to fly them thats $215 just to fly the bags. So we went to the market in Cancun one day and bought a backpack for the return home and we filled that dude to the top. So we were not over weight going home.
I use a beach bag for my purse and you can get alot in there and Jeff uses a backpack plus we have a smaller suitcase for carry on. Carry on has all our shoes.. those buggers can weigh alot.
we used sunwing two weeks ago , paid 100 for elite plus ,gives you lots of leg room in the first 3 rows ,separate check in and 30 kg for bags , but they weigh your carry on and allow 5kg , first time flying to cancun with them and went really well
