Well, after months of people boasting how this was the funniest movie ever, I figured, since I am pretty much snowed in that I would wawtch this film. Gotta say, one of the funnier movies ive seen in a while, i absolutely love stupid humor and this movie was full of it. A few sensitive subjects were touched on, but they set it up so that you were ready for it, and then he would say something after to make you forget about it. The storyline was interesting, and just kinda ended lol it was good though, if you like stupid humor then see this flick, if not, you wouldnt understand it. Fletches movie rating 8 out of 10
If you're referring to the anti-semetic overtones...Sacha Baron Cohen is Jewish. The guy thrives on making people admit to their secret prejudices...and boy does he do a good job;the only bit that made me cringe was the poor Jewish couple in the Bed and Breakfast place.Everyone who took part was told afterwards and fully recompensed (and made to sign a release!!!).The guy in the gun shop sussed it out and Pammy was told in advance. Thought overall it was okay but not his best stuff, which was on TV over here.
You should go...it's a hoot...he also derives great pleasure from poking fun at the whole overblown political-correctness thing, which in my opinion has gone way too far...
Political correctness has gone way overboard. I definitely agree with that. I guess I just thought th whole thing looked kind of stupid. Maybe I'll do the DVD thing when it comes out.
I wouldn't pay $.50 MX to see such a crappy movie. Moronic and offensive. I walked out before the end. And no, I'm not Jewish and I also find political correctness to be way out of hand. That has nothing to do with the poor quality of the movie in general. I'm still feeling ripped off.
