Hi guys Does anybody know if the fishing around the resort is any good. Like to bring my travel rod with me and noticed 2 piers on the beach can we fish from there? Also anybody interested in a fishing trip usually cheaper if theres 4 or 5 interested. Were in TTF from 16th feb till 2nd march
Not sure about the fishing behind the resort.you can also use one of the kayaks(they are free to use).our fist year there we went flats fishing can't remember the guides name.had a great time fought a lot of snook some snapper and barracuda, hung into some tarpon but couldn't land any.the first week your there will be with all our friends(we won't make it this year)you will be having so much fun that week you probably won't think about fishing
Cheers Craig Yes we will certainly indulge in the fun, but I tend to get up earlier than Mary and its nice to get out with the rod for an hour before breakfast some mornings.
In seriousness, though, I have also wanted to go on a guided (boat) fishing trip. Would be interested (both of us) fishing one morning.
Yes i'd be up for a fishing trip looking on google maps theres a fishing trips place next door. But would have to see how much it costs. In Cuba 2012 you could take the Hobby Cats out over the reef that's if you can sail of course I can't. We could do with a hot female sailor eh!!
Unfortunately they wont let you fish off the jettys, it's the same all over Cancun. I would like to with my son if I could, I think it is about the boat traffic and hazard to swimmers from lost tackle. There is a place called Sian Ka that runs deep sea fishing trips, it's not the hotel place but the next one down. I think it is better than the one the hotel offers, and have been a few times. Price is around $120 per person for a 6 hr shared trip, or a little less if you get a group together. I used to be able to get 20% discount for groups from here but it's a while since we have done one so not sure if that offer still stands. I can look into it if there are a group of 6 that want to go. Be warned, they start very early 6am or so and they go way past Isla Mujeres about 20 miles out. It can get rough out there.
Cheers for that Steve. I wont bother bringing my own gear if you can't fish from the shore. But will see if I can get a group together to do a trip. Is the fishing good around this area?
