Ive been reading a lot on here and I keep seeing mention of "premiere" membership. We are visiiting for the first time in Sept., will not be buying into a timeshare or package etc.
What kind of liquor is served at the resort, and do we need to be a premiere member to have top shelf? Will there be an upcharge of some sort when we arrive? What beers do they serve?

And what's this about AIWC? Should I be planning on bringing that too?

I'm also curious to hear about what reasons we might leave the resort. Are their day activities to do nearby, do you go shopping at walmart, or out during the day?
Looking forward to reading your replies...GO!

Someone will post the list of liquors, I'm sure...but if you go on to Temptation's website, it's easy to find. I usually alternate between beer (one choice - Dos Equis on tap) and Skyy Vodka and Sprite. I happen to like Dos Equis and always prefer tap beer, so I'm perfectly happy with that...not everyone is, but few AI resorts offer many beer options. We always hit Steve's Boobs Cruise - which is by far my favorite day of the trip. We also like to take the ferry to Isla Mujeres and spend a day on a golf cart over there. You couldn't pay me to step foot in a Walmart while on vacation. You'll love Temptation...all of us do.

Hi there. I usually drink the vodka and soda water and I bring mio drops for flavors. My hubby drinks the beer. At night I sometimes switch to red wine.

We always bring 2 cans on AIWC for the Boobs Cruise as mentioned by scottydog. We usually bring a bottle of fireball too.

We don't leave the resort to venture out. We have in the past though. There is shopping and restaurants all within about a 10 minute drive. There is a bus shuttle that's very cheap. Just walk out to the street to the bus stop sign. Or take a cab. The front lobby and the bartenders always give great advice where to go!

    Cheers!

We asked about red bull and vodka and were told it's a $5 cash upcharge. For tequila's there was a choice of Milagro, Jimador, 100 generations, and Jose Cuervo Gold. There were flavored vodkas including apple and vanilla(not brand name), Skyy vodka, coconut flavored rum, red label johnny walker, bacardi, apple schnapps, blue curacao, captain morgan, smirnoff vodka, and beefeater gin. Seeing as I couldn't quite get a drink I fell in love with, I kept trying new ones. That should be enough to satiate most tastes, although the AIWC is something you have to bring with you.

We did the Booze (not to be confused with Boobs) cruise on the "Dancer" which is highly rated on "Things to Do" in Cancun on TripAdvisor. Had a blast! Took us to some Mayan Ruins (it was hot as hell and a weird ritual thing was done as a tourist trap), tons of iguanas, then off to snorkeling and jumping from the boat off a diving board or giant slide. Then an AWESOME lunch before heading to Isla Mujeres. Rented a golf cart and wouldn't suggest doing anything else but that. The golf cart was 2 hours for $30 cash. Bring cash. Rode around to random parts of the island away from the main tourist trap and bought a coconut from a random guy on the side of the road who invited us to sit on his outside couches while he used a machete to cut open my coconut. We also went to Hotel Zone of Cancun, where all the major hotels are located. We went for "Surfing Burrito" which is a burrito stand open 24 hours (and delivers). Food was amazing. Walked around to random parts of the hotel district, through the flea market, and around the overly priced areas. Hopped on the bus (straight shot for $1 a person).
