As Newbies, we were anxious to get our trip started this morning. Got to Atlanta Airport early and everything was going smoothly. Our flight took off on time and then halfway to Cancun, the Captain announces there is a problem with the airplane and we were turning around and going back to Atlanta. Now we are sitting in the airport waiting on a new aircraft. After a morning like this, we will need to consume excessive alcohol once we get to TTR to de-stress! Does the airline know we are missing valuable partying time at TTR?
We had the same issue. Only we had no plane and had to wait over 6 hours for one to show up. Lost our whole first day.
Cab As soon as you get through the airport go straight out to the curb.. Don't stop for any of the people trying to give you shit or sell you excursions close to the airport exit. Once on the curb ask for a cab.. Forget about the transfer included with your trip. Tell the cab driver to take you to Temptation Mas Rapido...lol.. You will get there much quicker than taking a van that has to make multiple stops. Chris blueabyss2@msn.com
I am really hoping we don't get delayed as well. We are taking a flight from DC but have to transfer in Atlanta. I heard the flights are ALWAYS delayed. We're scheduled to get into Cancun by 10:00am so i really hope there aren't any issues like this. sucks big time.
About to board new airplane and Flight Attendent gets call about family emergency and has to leave. Now they must call in a new Flight Attendent. Delayed again. Will we ever get to TTR? And it is our Anniversary Week-End! Must get alcohol!
Can you take a cab from the airport? I always thought they didn't allow for cabs to pick up from there? that would be great to know for future travel.
We are taking USA Transfers. Called them when we re-landed and explained how we turned around in mid-air and they were very understanding and said car will be waiting when we land.
We lived in ATL for several years and learned one thing really quickly: DELTA=Don't Ever Leave The Airport Since we now live in the Omaha area, there are no direct flights to Cancun and we're going through Atlanta on Delta in May. I'm praying this doesn't happen to us. Drink on the plane...ASAP!! Good luck!
Yea, on our way, delta is serving free drinks in light of what happened. We will arrive at TTR in good spirits full of spirits!
Cab Yes Cody they do have cabs there.. We use to take a cab every time until Steve recommend USA Transfers Shuttle Service to us about 4 yrs ago.. Cancun tours | Riviera Maya Tours | Airport Transfers - Entertainment Plus - USA TRANSFERS - Cancun Mexico You can get a van that way. Seems weird booking it ahead of time that way but every time when we get there, there is a guy with a sign with our name on it. It does not matter if your plane is delayed as they track the flight numbers. Chris
