It's booked! First timers to Temptation. Arriving Friday 6/26 for 4 nights.

I read somewhere about an early check in website. Can anyone share that with me please? Also, any tips for first timers? What extras to see? What to do? Etc. I want to make the most of our 4 nights there. Spa massages good? Also, where can we find theme/activity for the week?

Booked a Garden room but figured I'd try to negotiate a better rate for an upgrade when I arrive. USA Transfers seems to be the best by consensus for airport transfers. US currency is fine for resort tipping, but what about off resort? If we even venture off...

    Thanks in advance!

EDIT - I see the express check in now on the website.

There are a lot of recent topics recently for first timers. I do not know how to post a link. A quick search will help. Have fun.

Look at that, you're practically a vet already. Man I wish that I would have known about this site before my first trip. Thankfully we fell in with a great group the 2nd day and everything rocked.

You can pretty much pay and tip anyone anywhere with USD. With 4 days you might not even end up leaving the resort (unless you book a booze cruise, which I strongly recommend. PM me if you want details.) You will be perfectly fine not exchanging money. I like to, because I like the plastic currency. But it can add another element of confusion to your first trip. After 4 trips to Mexico, I still get confused in my head when I get trashed and everyone gets over-tipped (no complaints here).

I swear Elyse has no idea how the conversion works, but I don't think she gives a shit. She never manages any money when we are there. "Elyse how much did you just spend for that round of shots?" "Blahhhh hahahaha". "OK that's a good enough answer for me."

Deff try a paty O's burger at 3 am, the bus is cheaper than a taxi

Boob cruise is booked! They luckily had one planned for the last day there (29th). Looking forward to that!

Plan to do a couples massage, but not sure if we should spend the money at the resort? I've heard there is a great place just down the beach for cheap. Listen to the waves crash in while you are getting a massage.

Wife is somewhat nervous, the whole "I'm not going to be comfortable taking my top of" but I think, based on others, she will get comfortable. But if not, it's no big deal, we are there to enjoy for our first time and see what it's all about.

Just bought our Bubba Mugs from Amazon! And yes, I'm glad I found this place before even attempting to go. So much help from all so far!

This was actually a last minute plan, as we originally thought about doing this about 5 months ago, then decided to do a couples only resort on Cozumel. We ditched that and were going to head down to Nashville (our 2nd home) but decided to be spontaneous and DO THIS! I'm sure, if we have the fun that most say you'll have, our next return trip will be longer!

Can't wait to meet some fabulous people and have some FUN!

As soon as you get there, you're going to realize that you've made the right decision. We went to Desire last year and had serious reservations about the whole nude thing (TTR is topless optional, as you probably know). In fact, I'm not even sure how we got the nerve to go. I still remember making my reservation, thinking "Holy crap, this woman on the phone knows I want to pay money to take off my pants. This is really screwed up."

We're from the Bible Belt, where having a drink before 8:00 PM is a mortal sin. We have 3 kids. Our friends enjoy potluck dinners. We love Target.

We arrived just before lunch, and sat by the pool in our sweatpants because our room wasn't ready. It was 84 degrees. I even brought our luggage to the pool, because I didn't want to let it out of my sight (we had some "unmentionables" in there). We ate lunch, got to the room, and finally changed into our suits.

An hour later, we went to the pool, and we were the only two not naked. No one seemed to care (or notice) but I felt out of place. I didn't feel pressured, but just overdressed, like I was wearing a tie to a picnic. The next thing I knew, I dropped trou, the wife popped the top, and we were having the time of our lives. That was Day 1 of 7.

So, take it from a couple of nerds - you're going to fit in better, and be much more comfortable, than you can fathom right now. Your wife will be topless by Day 2, by her own choosing. Some pensioner named Gloria will be the best dancer you've ever seen. A guy in a wheelchair will be wearing pasties. The grounds crew will be using a ladder to remove panties from a tree at 7AM.

Look at the theme nights, and plan to dress your wildest for them. Then go two steps further. You can tell yourself now that the outfits are "just in case", but after you get there, you'll be glad you have them (or sorry you don't.)

There's just something about Cancun that makes it a safe haven for fun nonsense. You'll meet people who have been at this for 20 years or more, and you can't do anything that will shock them.

    But you can try. :headbanger:

Silly question...but the theme nights I see on their website for our stay are...

Friday Night - The Ultimate Bacchanal Party - Dress Code: Hot White Outfit
Saturday Night - Fancy Temptation Night - Dress Code: Sexy in Red
Sunday and Monday Night - Dress Codes: Dress as you wish

Does this mainly pertain to the women only?

Based on my experience (again, at Desire) most women (90%) participate, and so those who don't are given an "Aww, come on, why didn't you dress up?" from their new friends, that they just met. They won't be heckled by strangers, though.

Guys seem to be given a free pass, as if women expect us to not want to be part of the fun. That said, the guys who did dress up (about 30%) were the life of the party. Seriously, there were 100 women in lingerie, and everyone was talking about the guys.

I'm 135 pounds soaking wet, pasty white, and about as freaking nerdy as they come. I decided (for some reason) to "Go big, or go home." I pulled on a ridiculously tight tee shirt, tiny boxers, and headed to the disco. The next thing I knew, I was surrounded by some of the hottest (IMHO) women there, because their "lame" (by their accounts) biker husbands wouldn't dress up.

You (men or women) don't have to look like a model, you don't have to dance well, and you don't have pretend to be something you're not. You just have to go with it.

These are not the "cool" kids from high school that we weren't cool enough to party with. All of those people are in jail. These are the doctors, accountants, and school teachers who figured out what life's about, and they want you to party with them.

    So party with them.
