    Part 1 Background

My wife and I just returned from our first trip to TTR so I figured I would write a trip report based on our experience at TTR.

Last year we visited Secrets Maroma and it was honestly the nicest resort I have ever been to, and that's saying alot as I have traveled all over the world for the past 25 years. With that being said Maroma was very relaxed and honestly quite boring. 90% of the couples there were young newlyweds and while the beach was nice there was not a single woman in a thong much less topless.

When my wife and I discussed choosing a resort for this years trip we wanted somewhere that she would feel comfortable either topless or in a thong or even both. We began researching clothing optional or topless beaches. Jamaica has several clothing optional resorts but the airfare and cost of the hotel for the dates we chose totaled nearly $4,000. Next we looked at St. Martin, airfare alone was nearly $2,000, next was South Beach Miami, while airfare was cheap the beachfront resorts were $350+ per night and that did not include food or alcohol.

I had researched Temptation last year and ultimately decided against it due to a few factors, the reports of loud and unruly groups of single men and the reports or people taking unwanted pictures of the topless women. I had stayed semi active on Cancuncare over the past year. It wasn't until I began participating in the group forums for the dates we chose that my concerns had been alleviated enough to book a trip to TTR.

The price was right through Alpharooms $750 for the 5 nights and the airfare (although almost double from last year) was affordable. I did not have high expectations about the resort as I knew nothing could compare to Secrets Maroma, but that's not why I booked TTR.

My wife was very anxious because she thought TTR was a swingers resort and she had a preconceived perception that the resort would be a big large open drunken orgy. After I assured her this was not the case.....(well the open orgy part at least) she felt more comfortable. I also let her know not to expect a 5-star resort, she was still very anxious but about the trip. This is where joining the June Junkies group here and on Facebook really played a part and was the best decision I could have made.

My wife browsed the June Junkies Facebook and began reading about the theme nights, we shopped online and chose outfits for those nights, I started actively posting on Facebook and my wife and I talked about our trip so much she was for the first time looking forward to TTR without reservation or fear.

Once we arrived at TTR it took us both a couple of days to get acclimated, and even though we knew and had interacted with some of the June group on Facebook and CancunCare we were honestly both a little shy to interact with "strangers".

Once we both felt comfortable with our surroundings we began to integrate ourselves with the group of people we had came to know on Facebook. Joining the group honestly made the trip and allowed my wife to open up and experience things I never would of thought she would be comfortable doing in a public setting.

I write this review for people that are hesitant to come to TTR just as we were in the hopes that it will help ease your decision.

Simply put this was the best vacation we have ever had, we are both already counting down the days until next June. We met some truly amazing people who we had an absolute amazing time with and can't wait to see them again.

    Check in/Rooms

We arrived at the Resort at 2:00 PM and our room was not ready, and was told it would not be for another hour. I did the early check in process and had requested a room in the 5000 block of the hotel, I asked if my request was able to be honored and the hostess told me yes and this is why my room was not ready.

I had prepared for not being able to check in immediately and packed our bathing suits in our carry on. We told we needed to meet with one of the resort representatives to welcome us. I knew from this forum this was standard practice and was when we would be approached for the dreaded timeshare sales pitch. I declined and simply told the hostess we would like to head straight to the pool and if she could tell me where the nearest bathroom was.

We hung out at the beach for a couple hours and then went to the reception area to see if our room was ready which it was. We were then escorted to our room which to my dismay was in the 4000 block over looking the road. I told the baggage clerk this was unacceptable he called the front desk and he escorted us to another room which again was unacceptable. I then walked down to the front desk asked if there was any other room even if I had to pay for an upgrade she gave me a key to a room in the 1000 section overlooking the courtyard and Margaritas, finally we got a decent room, although small.

The room we had was a little dated and cramped but was clean and at least we had somewhat of a view, not bad considering the price I paid.

    Food/Drinks:

The food was not great but not bad, honestly it was just as good as the 5 Star Secrets Maroma we stayed at last year. The white wine simply put is horrible, the red wine was much better. One of our group did get food poisoning from shrimp at the salad bar in Margaritas. We purposely did not eat any seafood product at the salad bars or buffets. This is a common practice we follow anywhere, not just at TTR.

Drinks ARE NOT WATERED DOWN no idea where this rumor started but I watched bartenders crack the seals on new bottles of Smirnoff and other liquors. The heat and the humidity melt the ice quickly and if you take 20 minutes to finish a drink in one of the resort cups no amount of alcohol will make it strong.

    Service:

A little tipping goes a LONG way anywhere in Mexico and this is true at TTR as well. We had the same hostess at Paty o's the entire time and we tipped her $1 every couple of drinks, not only did she remember what we were drinking the entire trip but she would bring us drinks without us asking she knew when we were about to finish a drink and would already have one ready. Same goes for the bartenders at the sexy pool. Hell I even had one guy who was working the bar at the fire show at the sports pool see me the next day in the buffet and said would you like a Vodka Sprite as I passed by (this is what we were drinking the night before).

    Activities:

TTR does a great job with fun contests through out the week (Bellyflop, Miss Temptations, etc.) You are not forced to participate if you don't want to, but damn they are fun to watch.

THE CANCUNCARE Boobs Cruise IS A MUST!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot stress this enough, it was the highlight of our trip. Chinos and Omar are simply amazing, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. If there is one during your stay GO!!!!!!!!!!!

    People:

The people who travel to TTR are what makes this resort special. At no time did I or my wife feel uncomfortable around other couples.
Were some of them "swingers"? Absolutely
Were we ever out right approached to join another couple or anything like that? Not a single time

During our stay there were a couple large groups of single males from England/Wales who were harmless and tended to stay in their own group. They were funny to watch that's for sure and we did not feel uncomfortable around them. Unfortunately this was to change.

On our last night a Bachelor Party of 15+ guys (from Spain I assume) arrived and unfortunately the whole tone of the resort changed. These guys were obnoxious drunken assholes. They incessantly cheered and yelled all over the resort, cat called women and creeped on women who simply passed by them. A couple of fights almost broke out. Security was always watching them and I saw several heated conversations between members of the bachelor party and management. This was one of my biggest fears about coming to TTR. Why these guys are not thrown out our their asses as soon as they start harassing women needs to be dealt with by TTR management.

I WANT TO THANK ALL OF THE JUNE JUNKIES FOR MAKING THIS THE BEST TRIP EVER, SEE YOU NEXT YEAR
