Hi everyone! We are leaving Sunday, with another couple, to head to Temptations. I did (or at least tried too) my research on the hotel. I am a worrier by nature, lol so I am nervous about the hotel, not the atmosphere. I have read several post on here and other places, good and bad. I don't mind an older hotel, and I am not looking for a 5 star place. I just want the hotel to be clean, and staff friendly. I keep reading stories about the musty smell, people having trouble with the hot water and some customer service issues. I don't want to regret choosing this hotel (though it was a group effort, lol). I know I will have a great time but just don't feel like dealing with room issues. I just need some reassurance please! lol I am "stress ridden" by nature!!! lol :daisy: Thanks for any tips!!! Laura
We have been twice. Leaving Saturday for our 3rd trip. Our first trip the room air didn't work and we were told they would fix it but by the time we got back to the room late the first night it wasn't fixed so we slept there and moved to a different room the next day. Dampness is a fact of life in Cancun and so the musty smell has been there to different degrees each time. I have read that some people bring fabreeze which hides it. Overall the rooms are in pretty good shape. We haven't had any real problems other than the one mentioned with the air. They are pretty good at moving you if you don't like the room provided they are not booked.
One more thing............looking at the settings. How do I get my pic to show up in forum??? Its on my profile but that's it! lol
To add your pic as an avatar go to the following link. http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/profile.php?do=editavatar You can use a search tool at the top to find answers on many questions. Most have been asked in these threads and answered already, with regular updates a well.
In settings, click ''Edit Avatar'', and add a small picture. Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 120 by 120 pixels or 48.8 KB (whichever is smaller).
Don't worry, be happy. It is incredibly humid, so your swimsuits will never dry out completely. The double shower in our room confused us. The BOTTOM of the handle has to point to the hot side, not the top of the handle (which is what we did the first day there, brrrrrrr). Housekeeping was GREAT; thorough, friendly, discreet, and they didn't grumble when we slept in and the "do not disturb" sign probably threw them off their schedule. We tipped more than we planned, and still felt cheap. The air worked pretty well, and was sensitive to light adjustments (which is all too rare even in U.S. hotels). We were nervous too (it was our first trip there), but the room more than we expected it to be. Enjoy!
Some rooms are definitely nicer than others. Don't be afraid to ask for another room if you get one that is awful or smells foul. Our first trip out room was 'ok' but our friends room that was nearby smelled disgusting. And their room's hair dryer literally caught on fire and went up in flames. We upgraded to premier that trip and were moved to a different section and the room was much nicer. Last week when we returned we were put in a much nicer room to start. We return again on Sunday (we are over at the hard rock resort right now and although its 10 times nicer here, I am bored out of my mind and I swear the weather is more crappy on this side then where Temptation is). I can't wait to get back to TTR again on Sunday. I'm hating life here. I will take an older, dirtier hotel with fun people over this, any day.
We went in Feb for our first trip and the only thing we didn't rate was the buffet restaurant. We go back in 15 days. Just enjoy it!!
