Hi! We will be going to Cancun for the first time Nov 28- Dec 5, we cant wait....Im going to prebook an airport transfter, as our flight doesnt get in until 6:45pm on the Saturday night. Which company do you recommend for the fastest transfer? Also, because we will be getting to temptations later in the evening what do you suggest we do for entertainment the first night we arrive (Sat)? Thanks for your help/suggestions! Di & Duane
Welcome Di & Duane! My suggestion for the airport transfer would be Brant's (aka USA Tranfers). We always use them with no problems, fast service & fair prices. To book their services scroll down to the bottom of this page & click on Entertaiment Plus. Find Cancun Airport Transfers & follow the instructions from there. If this is your first trip to Cancun here are a few tips: After you clear customs & claim your baggage, follow the flow of people outside of the terminal. DO NOT stop & talk to anyone. These are timeshare people or scam artists on transportation. Sometimes they are pretty persuasive but just keep moving. Once outside look for your name on a USA TRANSFER sign & they will take care of you. More directions on the Brant's site. As for entertainment on your first night there, I would suggest checking out the nightly entertainment @ Nice Shoes Bar @ the resort then slipping over to Patio's Bar when that is thru.Entertainment @ Nice Shoes usually lasts about 1 1/2 hrs. Then the staff takes hotel guests downtown to a club for the night. Because of traveling that day, Patio's may be a better option.Just my opinion. A lot of info on this board, check out the stickys & ask any questions you may have. A lot of great people here to help out. Be careful, you probably will become addicted  Scott & Lori
Our first time is next month as well. I booked through Brant, and can say the booking portion was pretty seamless and quick.
USA ALOHA Guys, We've used USA Transfer the last 6 trips and never had any problems even when our flight was 2 hours late. GREAT Service.
Just so you know, they no longer put your name on a sign...they just hold up a USA Transfers sign, but that's all explained in the email confirmation you get. Have a wonderful trip!
so whats the price? I normally just grab a taxi and arguethe price to $25 one way and do the same on the way back after a week.. Then I go straight to the resort... Isthis too much money? they normally start off at $45 so I figured I was getting a good deal
$55 USD for 1-3 people, $65 USD for 4-7 people. IMHO, better off with USA Transfers than with a taxi. Taxis can be dicey if they are not "official" taxis, and the airport is prime pickings for the unwary. Scott
I'm really, REALLY confused about the whole airport transfer thing... On Orbitz, TTR is listed as being only a couple of miles from the airport. Why then do people not just jump in a taxi? My wife and I have never been to cancun, granted, but we both grew up in Mexico, and spent a lot of time in Puerto Vallarta. In all that time, never had an issue with taxis, and never spent $35 on a ride that took less than an hour. In Vallarta, most 15 minute rides were about 5-8 dollars. Is it just that the airport in Cancun is a "seller's market", and the taxi drivers know that if they can't nail you for an excessive charge then there will be somebody else next in line? Is it generally this way all over Cancun, with taxi prices being inflated relative to other parts of mexico? Or is it that folks are paying for the convenience and security of getting the private transfers? I never even considered hiring a private transfer until I started reading this forum, now I'm wondering...
