My wife and I have traveled to many places in the Caribbean, Europe, etc. and even the Riviera Maya. But the previous resorts we stayed at in Cancun and Playa del Carmen were nice but a little on the boring side. So, we decided to try a place a bit more livelier like Temptations. We've been to places like St. Martin, St. Barth's, Villefranche-sur-Mer, Ibiza, Mallorca, etc. so seeing topless and nude sunbathing is nothing new for us to see and in reality were quite used to it. What makes Temptations unique or special that we can look forward to? Just curious to read what others out there think. We're really anxious to give this place a try! But, I do have two concerns. Overly zealous security staffs can ruin a vacation, and many resorts in this area are well known for high pressure sales tactics to upgrade a membership, purchase a time share, etc. Are these valid concerns here?
Security generally will not bother you if you follow the rules. Lately it does appear that they sometimes stop what seem like pretty innocent behavior - but in reading the reports of others it seems that things vary from security guard to security guard and even from week to week. Yes - the sales presentation can be pretty high pressure. However, unless you are going on a referral from a member, there is no requirement that you attend the presentation. Simply say no. What makes Temptation unique - while I am sure each person has their own list, almost everyone would tell you that the people you meet and party with are what makes Temptation special. The party starts before noon at the sexy pool and gets better all day long. Then it continues at Bash until the wee hours of the morning. I would also say that the great service by almost every staff member really stands out for most of us. It is always amazing how many of the staff remember you from visit to visit. The best thing to do is not worry too much about it before you go - like any trip you take anywhere, you can't know in advance how it will turn out. Go with an open mind and expect to have a terrific vacation and it will almost certainly turn out that way.
What makes this place unique is how friendly everyone is. People talk to each other here. You make friends for life. There are no dull moments unless you want quiet time by yourself. The timeshare people will try to catch you off guard as soon as you check in. If you want to avoid the sales pitch, politely decline anything they refer to as a welcome breakfast for the next day.
We agree with Trish and Len, Temptation is all about the people, you will make life time friends here. Temptation is a place where you can take lifes daily problems and your fears about what you look like and leave them at the check in desk, if you want to take them back home on the way out you can but most don't. You can do as much or little as you want, get involved in the themes daily schanaganes or just chill and no one will think differently about you. The timeshare people have not a issue for us, make eye contact with a nice smile and tell them your not interested then walk away, don't take the tour or give them $20 they like to ask for to reserve your spot with them. Security is visiable in background but has never been a problem when we've been there, I like to say hola when walking by them next time by they recognize you and say it first. The staff at Temptation are very friendly and look happy to be working there. T
We are like you and there Aug 8th - 15th for the first time, we have researched here and on various FB groups so feel pretty confident and excited that we are going to have fun! A lot of the members here seem to really stick together and go in groups which is also a good sign in my book!
