Hi everyone, we will be staying at Temptations in Cancun from Jan 3rd 2011 to Jan 17th 2011. This is our first time here or to an adult only resort. If there is anyone on here from the UK that have travelled with Thomas Cook fairly recently, we would love to hear from you. We are interested in finding out which rooms are normally allocated to the english and whether it is possible to sweet talk your way in to a nice room with good outlook etc as it is my 50th birthday when we travel. Also love to hear from anyone, (British, American and Canadian) who will be there during the same dates as us. Any info, tips etc much appreciated. We are going with the premise of really enjoying ourselves and to have a great laugh. Rich and Lorraine :mnm:
I think a lot of your room choice options might depend on how crowded the resort is when you arrive. We are from USA and I have no idea how they allocate rooms, but we were there about 2 weeks ago for our first time. I booked a standard room on Expedia.com. When we arrived at resort on a Tuesday about 2PM, I asked if a 3rd floor room overlooking the Quiet Pool was available. They said one would be available in about an hour, so we had lunch until the room was ready. In addition to overlooking the pool, the room they gave us also had a nice ocean view. But as it turned out, we didn't spend much time in the room anyway.
Hi Guy's, we are from just outside portsmouth in the uk. We have been to temptations five times so far and should have gone out in April with thomas cook, but the Ash cloud had other ideas, have re-booked for sept. Have been with thomas cook most of the times we have been and have had no problems. As for the rooms they do seem to put us brits in the block behind the sexy pool, but saying that they do try to accomidate you with what you want, a few dollers do go a long way. As for trips a must is one of steve's booze cruz, they are great and so much fun. if you have any other questions guy's let us know and we will gladly try to answer them, you will have the time of your lives, just look out for the roll call at the top of the thread for jan, around oct time, and add your names and you will get to know the great people from this site who are going to be there the same times as you. Hope you have a great Bithday. Sue & Dave x
Thanks for your replies. We are considering emailing the hotel to see if we can get a room near the quiet pool nearer to the time we travel. As you say though we might be as well to ask at reception when we book in and see where we would have been allocated a room in the first place. Really looking forward to our first adult only holiday and January can't come quickly enough. Looking forward to making many new friends. :uk1: After all, anything could happen lol
