HI all, I have been reading this site for a while, and I am not close to booking a week at Temptation. It sounds like a blast, and I am sure it will be different. My one concern is my gf, but not for the normal reasons I have seen on here. I have traveled the Caribbean many times, but she has never left the country. I want her to have the most relaxing vacation, like only an All-inclusive can be, and I want her to spend timne really laying on a beautiful beach. Knowing that, here are my thoughts: I could save a little at Temptations, and while it lacks the beach I have in my mind for her, we could find one for a couple of days we are there out of a planned 8 days OR we could do 4 days at one of several in Playa Del Carmen, than switch hotels and spend 4 at Temptations. I welcome your thoughts, Mark

I would think if you posted a question for one of the locals about where the good public beaches are you would get some good responses. I think if you hopped on a bus and went to one of those it wouldn't cost you much at all for a day on a more pristine beach. Plus you wouldn't have to worry about moving hotels. Personally I find the beach at TTR fine. Fluffy enough to walk barefoot through and easy enough to make sand castles with if you so Desire.
If your top two priorities are beach and relaxation then temptations is not the right fit. You can find these things at temptations but there are much better places for beach and relaxation. If your priorities are different than your gf then I think your idea of half and half is a good one.
The tricky part in doing two resorts is finding a reasonable price. Most packages, including flights, cover only one resort. If you have points to use for the flight it makes it a little easier. OK..honestly.. if you can only go to one resort and you are looking for that totally pampered, everything perfect,"relaxing" vacation then TTR may not be the place. Personally I would choose another adult only resort. You can get day and evening passes at TTR to check it out. But I noticed you said "I want her to have the most relaxing vacation"... I would check with her to see if that is what she wants. The beach at TTR is fine for soaking up the sun, enjoying the sound of the waves and taking a dip. They have done a lot of work on it over the last few years. And if she enjoys partying and meeting a bunch of fun people than TTR is definitely the place. Good luck
I am going to Temptations for the first time. So I can't speak to it directly. What I can say is.............I have been to the best beaches you can think of. The finest hotels. All that didn't matter if I wasn't with someone that I had a great time with and wanted to be with ME and me with THEM. For me, it's more about who I am with. Not sure if your girlfriend is the same way. I know there are a lot of women out there who think differently than I do. I'll take going with someone fun, who loves me for me - and not miss the Five Star rating and the extra thousands of dollars. Being in a live and let live atmosphere is what I am seeking in my life at this point. To each his/her own. Good Luck!!! Shannon
There is a Public Beach right in the middle of the hotel zone, 3 min bus ride or taxi from temptations, big beach with the waves on that side. Just an option
Mark, This is one of the beautiful things about Temptation. You have a choice right at the same hotel. If you wake up one morning and want the party, get your chairs next to the sexy pool. If you wake up the next and want a quite romantic one on one day, get your chairs next to the quite pool. Change your mind in the middle of the day? No need to change hotels, just walk over to the other pool. As for the beach, as has been said, the beach is great; the water is so/so. So if she just has to have that one day where she has the beach and the water, well as has been suggested, hop on the local bus and in 15 minutes you can be on the ocean side with the turquoise water and big waves on a free public beach. Or hop on the ferry and get both the beach and Isla Mujeres in one day. So my suggestion is Temptation answers all your stated needs in one location. Jamie

I was thinking of Royal Cancun and a day pass to the big party at Temptation......really fun seems to trump all!
