Finding reasonable rates from Canada

Has anyone from Canada (Alberta area mainly) found any good deals on flights and rooms? Every year the prices seem to go up a few hundred bucks making it harder to justify a 7 day trip. Don't get me wrong, seeing friends you haven't seen in a couple years, making new friends, letting loose, and not having a care in the world for a week makes the decision easier.

I should say that we are looking in April to go.

I hear you, we had the same issue with the pricing. Our dollar is bad hence the price hike. We found the best price one redtag.ca, which was about $300 total more than last year.

Oddly enough, we found flights much cheaper to Scotland (to see fellow TTR friends) by flying from Toronto. We can save over half by flying out of Toronto rather than Detroit. It's about 4 hours of driving, but for a half price ticket it's worth it to us. Maybe driving a bit would help you too? The other thing I've been doing is booking one-way tickets. This has worked well for several business trips, both for price and better times. For some reason the package flights always seem to have a crazy long layover someplace for me, and one-way tickets made those go away.

We bought (in $Can) our preferred Westjet flight down to Cancun when we saw it on sale but left booking our return flight until its price dropped. Unfortunately the return flight, because it originates outside of Canada, is only offered in $US and with the exchange rate has not been available at a good price even when discounts pop up. We now check it daily.

 

Flight prices ,, ( westjet) are pretty good this year,, resort prices are up 30% , a lot due to 13% decline in our dollar and reduced competition from AR, and resort being sold out a lot more.

depending on the week your travelling getting quotes for Referrals may not be a bad Idea ( non-member here)

Just as for PM,s , the site would be overindulged with sales and selling on here is not permitted .

We booked through our local travel agent. I searched online everywhere, and she actually was less $$$$. As for flight we are flying WestJet out of Calgary. She booked it too. It was just too easy, and less cash than I found anywhere less.

We used expedia hotel and room not a package 11 nights 12 days just under 3800cdn last i looked they only were selling ocean view and hot tub rooms much higher. Check bookvip.com
