Trip report for May 14 - 23. Once again we had a wonderful time at Temptations. We reunited with lots of old friends and made some very good new friends. Each May reunion seems to get better and better. We invited several new people to the CC board and hope they join in on some posts. We arrived at Temptations on Thursday, May 14. Our flight was a direct Delta flight out of Atlanta. With the exception of dealing with the Atlanta airport, everything went smoothly. A quick 2 hour flight on a plane that was only about ¼ occupancy. It was amazing how many people were still afraid to go to Mexico because of the “swine flu”. We used USA Transfers from Entertainment Plus for our shuttle to and from the airport, Thanks Brant. This is the only way to travel as far as we are concerned. Our room was ready and waiting when we arrived at the resort. The first familiar face we saw was the Mayor (Jamie). After some quick hellos we grabbed a quick lunch with friends Jack and Edie. Then off to the pool where Jamie had some chairs waiting. LET THE PARTY BEGIN!!!! Most of our days were generally spent the same way so I will just give a brief outline of our daily activities. Each morning I would head to the pool for “towel duty” sometime between 5am and 6am. Most everyone could recognize my chair by the “swallow” t-shirt. I would then watch the sun rise and take a few pics before heading to the gym. We tried to get a workout in each day but…………! Oh well we were on vacation. We did make it most days. After the gym we would head to the room for a shower and then down to the pool. About mid morning we usually went to one of the restaurants for breakfast. Most of the days were spent sitting around the pool, sitting in the pool, or playing some of the games. Around 5 o’clock each afternoon we would head up to the room for a power nap and get dressed for dinner. Since the buffet restaurant was closed (El Embarcadero) until the last couple of days, we ate in one of the specialty restaurants most nights. The food was great as always. After dinner we would head to Patty O’s and buy drinks for all our friends. HA. We had some awesome parties! If there was a show at Nice Shoes we would attend. They had some very good shows. Cherri got a personal strip show when she was picked up and carried onstage where she was the center of attention. Damn, she was glad she was wearing underwear that night. (Jamie has a video). Another night she was taken to a chair on stage and had an up close and personal lap dance performed by 2 male dancers and about 6 female dancers. (I have that on video) She was in heaven. She is still all smiles anytime someone mentions it. Did I mention that we had some awesome parties? After the shows some nights we would hang out in Nice Shoes and enjoy some dancing with friends. (Hence the pics of cage dancing and pole dancing). Most nights we headed back to Patty O’s where we would try to get a party started. Boy, we had some really good ones, too. Did I tell you about our awesome parties? Thanks to all those that participated. Can somebody say “Jello Shots” . About 3 - 4 am we would usually call it quits and head upstairs for some sleep. (Though not very much). That’s how our days and nights were spent. Now for some memorable moments during our trip. Friends: First I want to say THANK YOU to all our great friends that we had the privilege of sharing some good times with. All of you keep us coming back year after year. We love you guys and already miss you. You are the best people in the world to share a vacation with. Anybody who doesn’t believe it should show up next May and see for themselves. You guys throw some awesome parties. For fear that I may leave someone out, I am not going to list everyone by name. Those of you that we partied with know who you are. Again I say Thank You. Trolls: Janie, thanks for trusting me with the Trolls for the past month. We have had a great time and caused a lot of excitement with them. I;m sure they will never be the same. Everyone loved them at Temptations. They will be home soon. Blinking Ice Cubes: I hope all of you who got a flashing ice cube or a lighted straw had a good time. We passed these out to try and “lighten” things up a little. It worked most nights. Did I say we had some awesome parties? Jello Shots: Yes we had some Jello shots (Jello Body Shots) most nights. That was fun. Due to the posts earlier about security we took it to the pool area and guess what? Yep. Security got us. Told us that this area was closed and we could either take it to the beach or……..(now get this)……. Take it to Patty O’s. When I questioned this I was told that Patty O’s was ok for what we were doing. Sooooo….. We headed back to Patty O’s and continued our “fun” under the watchful eyes of security. Almost every night after this we had jello body shots in Patty O’s and were never harassed. Thank you Temptations and security. Also I have some great pics and will share if you were involved. Send me a pm. You know who you are!!!! Oh, yeah. Those awesome parties!!!! Booze Cruise: What can I say? Steve and Janet, you guys are the greatest. Thanks for the wonderful time and great memories from our trip. We had a blast. This was one of those awesome parties I have been talking about. To those of you that were there, wow. The pics say it all. To those that were not there, sorry. I bet you will be there next year. Steve, you can go ahead and reserve my spot. The weather was wonderful. The food was good. The snorkeling was great as always. The booze never stopped flowing and the fun never slowed down. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. If you think it was fun this time……..just wait til next year. Although I don’t remember the names of the crew on the boat, Thanks for everything. You guys were a lot of fun. Oh, and the pics. Sorry but most are R rated and saved for those that were there. Did I tell you about those awesome parties? Coconuts: If you saw the coconuts in the pics, let me tell you the story behind them. On our booze cruise we visited the downtown area of Isla Mujeres and decided to have a drink at the open air bar near the dock. We asked if we could get a fresh coconut drink. The bar had no fresh coconuts so…… He sent two young boys down the street to climb a tree and cut fresh coconuts down and bring them to us. He then cut them open, mixed coconut rum and grenadine with the coconut milk and served them to us. How awesome is that. After finishing the drinks he broke open the shells so we could eat the fresh coconut. Resort Staff: As always the staff were great. Although the occupancy was way down, everything was well taken care of. The bartenders once again did a great job. Remember, a tip goes a long way toward getting good drinks. It was nice to see all the familiar faces. Entertainment: The entertainment staff did a good job of trying to keep things going although it was evident that the old crew was missing. It will be hard to replace all the old talent. We did get to spend a little time with T before she headed home to Canada. She is as sweet as ever. Danni was the only female on the crew after T left. She is a very outgoing and likable but she still has a lot of growing up to do. She may be gone anyway as she didn’t show up for work a couple of days in a row just before we left. Shows: The shows that we attended were very entertaining. The stripper shows where Cherri was carried onstage for some personal entertainment was definitely her favorites. These people put a lot of work into their performances and it was well worth attending. Nice Shoes was packed most nights with standing room only. Walmart: I did take Cherri on her first trip to Walmart in Cancun. That was entertaining. If you have never made this trip, you should. Restaurants: The buffet restaurant El Embarcadero was closed for remodeling until the Thursday before we left. When it was opened it was about the same as before. A nice variety of food. The specialty restaurants were great as always. Still have to dress in long pants and shoes. Not a problem for us but we did hear others complain. One big difference was not having to make reservations. I hope they leave it this way. Pictures: We took over 1400 pictures while there this year. I have tried to filter them and have posted the G rated ones on web shots. The link is located below. There are over 600 pics posted and if anyone sees a pic that they would like removed just send me a PM and I’ll remove it. As for the other pics, I will try to post them in a password protected file so if you were there with us you can access them. I will only give the password to those that are willing to share files. DID I MENTION THOSE AWESOME PARTIES?????? Whew………… That was fun. Can’t wait til next year. http://community.webshots.com/user/dmac2514?vhost=community
