Overall our experience here was nothing short of fantastic in spite of a couple things I bitched about in another thread. We made some lifelong friends and cant wait to see them again. We didnt see any open sex in the pool if that bothers some people. WE WILL BE BACK! We always felt safe off the resort. Other than the standard everyone is trying to sell you something schtick the locals were just normal. We didnt see any crack heads anywhere which was a nice change from all over back home. Poverty is rampant here, especially off the tourist areas. Lots of folks trying to peddle cocaine on the down low. when we were driving around Isla in our golf cart some guy on a moped behind us was waving bags of blow at us to buy. Sadly, his 3 year old kid was sitting on the gas tank with him. That kind of hit home with regards to the desperation here. I guess there is little or no welfare system here. I hope all of you who have yet to come have a wonderful time. Sit back, relax, dont get too drunk and have a domestic with your SO. Just be cool and have fun.
