So...I've been researching which place to book for me and my buddy for Canadian 'reading week' (which is feb 14-21 at my school). We're looking for a place thats not a dump, but not 100% family oriented either, since we do like to party at night. Half-decent food, and nice rooms are a must

I got a sick deal on Cancun Palace AI, through my RCI membership, but we are concerned that although it provides alot of cool touristy stuff to see during the day, may be too weak on the party side. It is a full pass, so you get full access to all the other Palace Resorts, but are any of them good for young adults looking to party?

On the other side of the coin, I know Oasis is the place to be, but we're both 23, and getting wasted in what seems like pretty much a mediocre hotel has very little appeal for a 7 day trip. Also, I've read way too many bad reviews about stuff getting jacked, shitty service, and bad food to be convinced on spending money there.

I should add that we're both really social guys and have no problems meeting new people.

Any input/feedback on something to strike a balance would be awesome, thanks guys:icon_smile:

If you got a good deal at the Palace, stay there. It's beautiful. Just get an Oasis Day Pass to Party during the day. The Oasis is an OK resort, but I would never stay there, nor would I recommend it.

Thanks for your honesty on Oasis ToriB, I appreciate it. Will I find a younger crowd mid-feburary at any of the Palace properties?

I booked my SB for March 10th at Cancun Palace. My brother (18 at the time) stayed at cancun palace in June and had a blast. Said there were young adults there.

My buddy and I are 24 and 25 we're looking for the same venue as you, hopefully its good.

army21...there are sooooo many posts about the Oasis. It's a party hotel, nothing more. The food is not good, alot of the rooms have issues. It is in dire need of a makeover. People go there to drink, socialize and pass out. Alot of the regulars have stayed there and choose to go elsewhere. There are better places in Cancun that are cheaper, and you can pay the Day Pass price and party.

Totally agree! these 2 resorts are like night and day. Ive stayed at both. the Palace 3 times before the Hurricane and the Renovations and it was a great place. They redid the whole place since so it must be even better. All the bad things about the Oasis are true. many issues with the rooms, food was awful and one of the few Hotels on the strip that did absolutely nothing in renovations after the Hurricane.
