We have been reading the posts and reviews at travel advisor for the last month or two and have been going crazy with the good reviews and then a horrible one. We are not the travel type but are trying to set up our honeymoon for Feb. 1st - 7th, 2010. We are swingers but not really hard core. We of course do drink but not like fish and would prefer to just relax and hook-up with couples and singles from time to time while we are there while spending the rest of the time having good conversations with others. Time alone from time to time would be very nice but we are really going to meet others. We hate to really stew on this decision but being that we are not super wealthy we do not want to blow our get away on something that we will hate. Both of us are very down to earth conservatives that would really like to have a vacation/honeymoon that we can do anything we want during and not have to worry about what anyone thinks about us from back home. Not that it matters but we tried to put our pic up but could not quite figure that part out. We both work out and are what most would describe as hot white people. We really appreciate this board being here so we can glean more info about this resort and what we should expect. Also we would very much like to know what type of clothing we should take? We are diffidently not nudist but at the same time Amanda would really like to just dress like she is a total hooker if that makes any since. We have tried to find people that are going down the same time we are on SLS or AFF with out much luck as they seem to all be going to Jamaica. We do not really wish to go there and so we are hoping to find a few singles or couples that we could meet down there that we would know a little better in advance. After reading quite a few of the posts we hope this is how we go about it. :| Thank you in advance for the info guys. Glenn and Amanda
We will be there 1/31/-2/7. This is our 3rd time at TTR and 6th in Cancun. A lot of what will follow has been said before by others, but this is our take... We have stayed at the Palace resorts and find them very luxurious, but more family centered and couple centered. The friendly- party atmosphere is at TTR. There is a lot of acceptence and very little judgement here. Respect for others is the norm at TTR. You can make a vacation here anything you want. You can just relax, or relax and people watch, meet lots of people and participate or not. No presure either way. The accomodations appear to have improved since our last visit in 9/2007. But even then they were average or better with the positives being service. Everyone is outgoing and friendly and eager to help you enjoy your vacation. The food was average or better as well. I have found 99% of the information on cancuncare to be very accurate. You also get a good idea of the mindset of the people who go there. As far as negetive reviews, all resorts have them and in the case of TTR they most likely come from people who did not research the resort before booking. The last two times to Cancun we did not go to TTR, one time we brought our son and the other because of a great deal we got at another resort. Both times we missed TTR. Hope this info helps.
