Do any of you know of a company/chain/whatever that provides incoming and outgoing fax services? The papeleria near my house does not, but perhaps some of these places are known to offer the service?

I have a new client/contract, and while I usually just use print/sign/scan/send digitally methods with my clients, this one requires the paperwork be faxed directly unfortunately.

    Thanks for any help!

You can send and receive faxes at the Costco in Cancun. But maybe that's not what you mean.

I have a TrustFax account that gives me a US fax number. If someone sends a fax to me it arrives in my email as a PDF. If I want to send a fax I can also initiate that electronically so long as I have the doc scanned.

    They have a free trial:
Email fax online internet fax service send fax free
The cost is no big deal, I think like $40 USD a year.

I cheated and made a small gif of my signature that I will place in electronic docs to "sign" them, that often saves me having to print and scan things.

I also have a scanner in case I need it, but it's an HP and their software designers need to be strung up and tortured and shot and shot again (and again), so I try to avoid using the scanner much.

A physical location was what I was thinking, not being smart enough to look for an online service provider...TrustFax is the ticket though! Thanks a bunch!

I have an image version of my signature too :D

Can I inject the usual 2 cents? Faxing is very inexpensive here. Last month I had to send five 2 page faxes to various numbers in California and New York. I'm looking at my phone bill. Total cost for the five faxes was 10 pesos. It seems to me that's a lot less expensive then the online fax service I was using.

So that was the cost of faxing from your home? I don't have a fax machine. And by the time I scan something I can often email it anyway. For me the money I spend on the fax service is worth it to have a US 800 fax number that delivers PDFs to my inbox. That's the sweet part.

And real fax machines are rotten for the environment, they take one piece of paper and make two. So I like to avoid using real ones.

Also I don't want my US/Canadian clients inconvenienced with having to dial Mexico. They can call me on my US Vonage number or Fax me on a US number. They put up with enough in the fact that we can't have face to face meetings (unless they come here, which they sometimes happily do, they like to write off part of their vacation, haha).

In the end whatever method is most convenient for you is the right one. For me it needs to all happen on the desktop.

My bad: One way thinking. I have no need for and never receive faxes. I didn't even consider that part of it. Your reasoning is impeccable, although I could argue the one page two page concept. You are a true "Greengo".
