I understand there may be a family friendly phone number I can provide to my family for the resort. If anyone knows what it is, can you please let me know?
I have never heard that, but there is a main number. My guess is you do not want your family to know which resort you will be staying at? I think they can call direct to your room and leave a message but you cannot supply them the number until after checkin once you know it. Of course you will hardly be in your room if all is going well, I suppose your cell phone is not an option or you would not be asking? So, for a small negotiated fee ( not necessarily money) I will supply you with mine. When answering I will state “ hello, you have reached the Disney World of Cancun (or other family friendly resort) and the party you are attemting to reach is unavailable, please leave a message and they will get back to you”
With wifi everywhere we have never needed to provide a travel number to family. We are from Canada as well, with Rogers. I either use wifi and they Skype, and text or FaceTime or I pay $10/day and have foam like Home and use my phone with data.
When my wife and I went when the kids were younger (second relationship) we expected the exes to do their part and look after them for the time we were away same as we did. When we got to the resort we’d send the kids a text letting them know we got there safe and that we’d send them a text again later on. We had the wifi on her iPad for just in case of emergency and would check that a couple of times a day. Then again as we were leaving the resort and call them once we got to the airport at home. As far as what resort we would just say we were going to Mexico we didn’t hide the name from either of our parents we were in our 40’s and as the kids grew towards adulthood we’d let the kids know of course they would give us the hairy eyeball but I think that’s more them not wanting to have the thought mom and dad have sex than anything else.
